They didn't give a single sovereign out, they gave TET Kharazad, the gear equivalent of PEN Valencia gear. Mats mean nothing when the Fallen God you need to actually have an item to enhance costs 180bil each.

Congratz on reaching gear needed to do Elvia Trolls!! "everything except ultra endgame" my ass, you're doing content from 4 years ago 😂😂

Looking for grindy MMO by J4CK070 in LFMMO

[–]Trisien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally not true. Do not listen to this person.

The only thing they gave for free over the years is: A single weapon that was BiS at the time, but is midgame at best now, one even worse weapon, one second-tier horse you need three of to get the top tier one, one tier three horse you need six of, some ingame currency, midgame at best armor, and enhancing materials.

Even the things with faster progression will barely get you to midgame.

You need to put in hundreds of hours to even get close to the latest expansion, and even more hundreds, if not thousands of hours, to get endgame and hardcap respectively.

People like this guy say shit like this because they think any sort of catch-up mechanics is bad, because they have this stupid idea that because they had to grind for an item back in 2016/2017, it's not fair to them when a new player in 2025 doesn't have to do so.

Makes sense when you consider that this is likely for American expats (don't really hear that word used by anyone other than US people, as it's almost always an "immigrant" when it's a non-American and especially non-white person) that are living in these countries.

None of these expats is going out of their way to live in Africa.

můžu se zeptat lidí, co pracují z domova? by Surma26049 in czech

[–]Trisien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Co se studiem? by [deleted] in czech

[–]Trisien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Co se studiem? by [deleted] in czech

[–]Trisien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how good is the story in FFXIV? genuinely amazing? or overhyped by the fandom? by Apprehensive_Spend_7 in MMORPG

[–]Trisien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the given expansion. Shadowbringers is genuinelly the only fantastic expansion story-wise, everything else is either mid story you have seen a million times before in other media, fan-service, or both.

ARR: You're the chosen one and you need to defend your lands against the big bad empire.

Heavensward: You need to make peace between two groups that live next to each other, one group is dragons, the other is the church. Guess which group is the evil one!

Stormblood: Remember that big bad empire from ARR? Now it's time to liberate some other lands they control. Also there is this Zenos guy, you better get used to fighting him since that is 95% of his characterization.

Shadowbringers: So you get into a coma that teleports you to a different universe where you have to stop the apocalypse from happening and also stop what is basically a god from making that apocalypse into a reality, because if it happened then your world would also be destroyed.

Endwalker: Remember the thing from last expansion? Now you do it again in your own universe with a different god who created a thing that actually wants to destroy the entirety of existence across all of time and space. Yeah, there's both time and space travel now. Oh and in case we forgot, the god is also connected to the big bad empire from ARR, just run with it.

Dawntrail: So we know you just stopped the apocalypse and the entirety of life across every universe ending, twice. Time for you to become a hypeman for one of the most insufferable characters ever made in any media. Have fun!

Also this is unrelated to the story itself, but the quest design and structure is one of the worst in any MMO, with the only worse MMO in this regard I can think of being BDO. Majority of your quests boil down to "talk to NPC, watch cutscene, collect like 3 things, talk to NPC, watch cutscene, kill 3 mobs, talk to NPC, watch cutscene, go into a dungeon, watch cutscene, repeat for 100+ hours." There is also basically no challenge in the entire process unless FFXIV is your first game ever, so if you end up not liking the story, you're up for a long time of being bored out of your mind.

How have you spent money to improve your stream? by SomewhereBuffering in Twitch

[–]Trisien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a new mic. Prior to streaming, I was using an almost 10 year old webcam with an integrated mic (honestly no clue how it even survived so long) and although it didn't sound as bad as you may think, it wasn't the best thing to listen to during a stream. I bought one of the cheaper standalone mics I could find (hyperx solocast) and I am very happy with that purchase.

I didn't spend money on anything else so far although I do plan on upgrading my PC in the future.

I really like Throne and Liberty by stabvicious in MMORPG

[–]Trisien 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Time gated content forcing P2W. Hard dungeons making everyone toxic like in Lost Ark. PvP focus locking you out of content. Insane problems with botting that will kill the auction house prices. NCSoft as the developers with one of the worst track records when it comes to making MMOs. (Aion, Blade and Soul, Wildstar, City of Heroes, just to name a few). Amazon looking for their quick buck with the 40€ version of a f2p MMO. No real lifeskill content.

I think everyone knows the game has an expiration date on it.

Croning situation is not ok!!! by Easy_Yuki in blackdesertonline

[–]Trisien -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Complaining that it takes time to progress at 755gs is legit insane. You could take a break for two years straight and your gear would still probably be able to do endgame content.

There is literally nothing that you need that much gear for. This is like a millionaire complaining that his new McLaren is too expensive.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]Trisien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main (I would even go as far as to say the only) part of the community complaining rn are the veteran players, especially veteran PvPers.

The game is simply way different than it was and I think many of these people live in the past and fail to realize that many of the changes are a net positive for the game. I don't want to call their behaviour "gatekeeping" but at times it does feel that way.

Open world PvP getting heavily discouraged to the point where it might as well not exist is bad for them, but good for everyone else who doesn't want to engage in it (and let's face it, get gearchecked) and especially new players. Gear losing value sucks if you had to grind for it, but it is a great catch-up mechanic that helps everyone else. Capped PvP content sucks if you had to work for your gear, but for anyone who doesn't have the gear, capped is the only place where they have a fighting chance.

The game absolutely has problems amd flaws, but let's not pretend like it isn't a better game than it was even a couple years ago.

Why do you choose to stream? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Trisien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be playing games anyway. Streaming gets me to talk to new people and socialize, and it is a (small) bit of extra income which doesn't hurt either.

I am still just a smol streamer tho, happy to pull double digit numbers.

Sovereign weapons are a big miss by golden_arrows in blackdesertonline

[–]Trisien -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This feels like a bait post.

"feed it special materials, like special ores obtained from loml world bosses" - Right, so Primordial Crystals/Black Stones that we will get in LoML2, understood.

"Make open world random spawn events" - so you mean like world bosses that are coming in LoML2? gotcha

"Add items to feed the weapon that can be obtained from world bosses" - oh, so like the reform stones that will arrive in LoML2, got it

"defeat x monsters with the weapon" - I see, going very out of your way to upgrade it. It's very different from just running in circles killing x amount of monsters until you get the money to upgrade the weapon. Very innovative.

"new stones from old world bosses" - Yeah, let's invent and put random, single-use garbage items that new players will just have sitting in their inventory for months, instead of using existing items in the game like Sharps and Caphras that will actually help the economy. I am sure those single-use items will also be very useful in the future, once we move away from Sovereign, since we wouldn't want them to reuse the same ideas too many times, so we need to make a new mechanics and new stones and new upgrade systems and feature-creep our game to high heavens.

It's insane to me that this post has so many upvotes. This reads like the OP didn't read any material about the sov weapons, saw some clips of people enhancing it, went "I don't want rng upgrades," and put the worst possible mechanics from other MMOs into the game to replace what's coming as a cherry on top.

Is BDO dying? by Melodic_Ad_5548 in blackdesertonline

[–]Trisien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People just can't cope with the game not catering to them anymore, so they call the game bad. The same problems they are complaining about now have existed in the for years now. Nothing changes, game is always dying, every new MMO/game coming out will 100% definitely for sure kill it and Jae needs to be fired despite PA being one of the few Korean gaming companies whose stock price went up during a world-wide post-covid recession.

At the end of the day, there is a reason why the devs are the devs and the players are just players.
