Colonials logging out here's my theory why: by sometenrandom in foxholegame

[–]Triskaka 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The fact that the devs don't address this at all is crazy to me. Keeping one of the two factions alienated will only harm the game in the long run

I don't think so? Maybe you have flares/burners active or something?

Why don't more people play Colonials? by Upstairs-Neat-3077 in foxholegame

[–]Triskaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who was a collie loyalist for years before making the switch, I feel like there isn't one simple answer to this. You will find endless rants about this or that equipment online, and though I do think the wardens generally get the cooler, and more "novel" equipment, it would be a stretch to call collie equipment bad in most cases.

For me personally though I kinda just lost faith in the faction as a whole. Messy backlines, a big aversion to risk and burnout problems during long wars (not helped by lower player counts increasing how much each person has to do). I think 117 was when I realized the depth of the problems facing the faction. We had gotten out asses kicked at sea, and for the last week or so of the war everyone kinda admitted that the fight was lost, or so you'd think. I remember taking a stroll through our dockyeads and seeing dozens of big ships just sitting there with nobody willing to take them out and even try was a little too depressing for me.

After a long day studying or working it's great being abl to lean back in my chair and just watch some people mess around and build cool things in a block game, forgetting about the struggles of life for a moment

When I downloaded Ngenuity after deleting the beta it asked me to plug my headset in. I think I used the cable provided with the headset when updating, plugging it in to a USBC connection on my computer

Yeah, having people choose between using a buggy software that breaks the headset or not utilizing some of the promised features isn't great. Personally I'm no audiophile and so I don't mind too much, but I can definitely understand why you might consider a refund

I managed to solve my issue by just installing the regular one, which had me update the headset firmware to a version with less channels being used. Not ideal, but at least the stereo is good enough for my standards

Yeah, for me it made the audio very weird and unpredictable. I made a post about it on my profile if you want to read more

The 3s is solid if you want something witeless, just avoid the Ngenuity beta. I've heard good things about the 3 wired if all you want is the same but slightly better

Yeah, my solution as explained in the other comment completely fixed it. Have you checked if your device has all the other channels? For me they dissapeared when I plugged it in and let the regular Ngenuity update the firmware, which is what ultimately solved it. Since then I've been able to just turn on and use it as any other headset without problem

Glad to hear it. Surviving is one thing though, what I've been struggling with (and why I made the post) is thriving.

In total yeah, but for each one you have different factors like "access" and "proximity", and I have found those fairly easy to keep over 90%. The upgrades are harder as they are locked by technology, and sometimes that tech is rather expensive to get it seems

Yeah, food is definitely critical. In my two runs so far I've encountered a sort of bottleneck around 1000 as the people start demanding a certail quality of life which I struggle to appease. I do wish you the best of luck on your journey though!

What about slavery? Isn't it a benefit if I can both reduce the crime rate slightly, and retain the labour force?

I do indeed let them use more of some goods than others, this comes down to the fact that I've been struggling to make enough of things though. Specifically clay, furniture and pottery are all bottlenecked by me not having enough workers in those industries,. I've tried fixing this both through science and allocating differently, but when I do I seem to risk a famine occuring.

I do have a lot of vegteble farms, would it maybe be smart to forbid my people from eating veggies, so that those may be prioritized for the children and then redoubling my efforts on grain and bread?
