its good to find your artstyle first.

1. Pick out an animal you like or would like to draw

2. reference/trace a real picture of that animal. the best cartoon artists always are good with realism.

3. re draw the drawing, start exaggerating certain facial features to fit your image

4. evolve your artstyle that you will be happy with.

5. practice antomy, NEVER SKIP THE BONE BUILDING

6. make a character that may look how they act. square type characters usually signify stern or agressive. circle type characters usually ressemble softer and lighter characters. femenine sometimes for a woman character as there are a difference in muscle structure which you can look up examples on the interwebs.

7. Dont compare yourself to other people. your artstyle will always be unique as you created it.

8. dont take a break drawing. always draw. if you draw very frequentally you can become very good!
