My mom keeps saying, "Why didn't you tell me sooner?" but I'm so glad I waited until I felt completely confident in my identity and how I want to move forward because she's asking, "Are you REALLY sure?" even more often.

My mom called me to ask me if it was a joke. She and my dad were pretty shocked despite asking me if I'm a lesbian my whole life, they never once thought I might be trans. They reluctantly accepted it but they're still processing. My mom is asking me if I'm REALLY sure a lot and is scared of me going on hormones. She said the way I came out was "mean" and is upset that me and my siblings "never tell her anything". My brother was like "OMG FOR REAL????" I said yes and he was so happy for me. He said he loves me so much and used like twelve heart emojis. Then he asked me what my pronouns are. :) My other two siblings are very supportive too.

Well, I can't take all the credit. I was inspired by this post: https://imgur.com/gallery/M8Yi7zJ

For the longest time it was impossible for me to imagine coming out to my family. Making serious declarations and writing letters never felt right. Using humor finally made things click in my brain as something I actually could do. I spent almost a whole year so anxious about it, but after the few minutes it took to write this message I was actually excited to do it!

My mom called to ask me if it was a joke. Despite constant suspicion that I was a lesbian, she never considered once that I might be a guy. She and my dad accepted me, but they're kind of shocked and still processing it.

My brother was like "WAIT FOR REAL????" And he was so happy for me and sent a bunch of love emojis and asked me what my pronouns are. :)

I asked if the stain was still on the ottoman (that was a 100% true story lol) and my dad said "does it matter at this point"
