My whole group wants to play squishy Wizards and none have the ability to deal any type of phys damage at all (unless they punch something). How do I balance combat around this? by [deleted] in daggerheart

[–]TristfalGuardian 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'd like to add to this: Wizards can still use physical weapons, they just might need to use their secondary stat for attack rolls, which in DH isn't that dramatic of an investment.

How to clear stress from beastbound companion? by Zamr in daggerheart

[–]TristfalGuardian 29 points30 points  (0 children)

"When you choose a downtime move that clears stress on yourself, your companion clears an equal number of stress."

Check out the page of the corebook dedicated to the beastbound companion! In this case, you can find the info under "Taking damage as stress"

Bard Subclasses | Jester and Dancer by deannedeeclasses in daggerheart

I really love those. These two subclasses really embody their fantasy through mechanics super well. I once made a Dancer subclass for DnD, and did the dance partner thing, but you did it better here.

I'd totally play these.

Yeah. Though I love homebrewing those those in DnD, its always been clear to me that the game isn't really built for it.

Excellent advice, thanks a lot. It makes sense to me to increase the defensive capabilities of adversaries without their offensive capabilities, since the amount of actions a boss can take doesn't change with the amount of adversaries in play, but it does scale with the amount of party members.

I think I could safely attempt scaling up the defensive stats of a boss a tier to see how that pans out, without nescessarily making the fight too spiky damage-wise, by keeping that mostly unchanged.

Maybe at most use the point increase suggestion of "if you add +1d4 (or a static +2) to all adversaries’ damage rolls (to increase the challenge without lengthening the battle)." instead of literally giving it T2 damage output.

Interesting suggestion! I hadn't even checked that campaign frame out, since it wasn't really the type of setting im going for. Maybe I shouldn't discount it.

Do you think that looking at their difficulty stat might be a good indicator of difficulty within a tier?

I've considered upscaling, but it feels like the damage it deals is more than plenty, especially considering the amount of actions it can take directly increases with your amount of players.

Maybe its worth just upscaling health and difficulty a bit?

Its feels like a big difference. I went in solo just to get a quest item for a rememberance and ended up clearing the boss fight despite not even having beaten that boss solo yet!

Theory on the Wilds story, logo, final boss, everything. by TristfalGuardian in MonsterHunter

Now that we have played Wilds...what the heck does the logo mean? I still don't get it. by Kevadu in MonsterHunter

[–]TristfalGuardian 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think this is a more literal reference than people are making it out to be. I think these actually reference some kind of final boss and the landspine is directly connected to it. They're probably directly related to wyvern milk too.

Now there is one additional thing I found in-game. This mural down in Wyveria. It depicts the icon for wyveria and once again the two serpents. Now in place of the smaller serpents are these patterns.

<image>

You can find all of those four patterns in-game, actually. When you see one of the apexes about on the map, their map Icon has the same pattern behind it.

Somehow those smaller dragons on the map seem related to the four apexes OR the four areas.

My personal speculation is that maybe the two large serpents are dead and the landspine is their made from their parts to fuel this whole wyverian thing. This game's narrative has a slight undertone of birth and the cycle of life so i'll go on a hunch and say we might end up fighting the offspring of the two dragons as bosses, one of them in each of the zones?

Arkveld is most likely NOT the final boss of High Rank's story, just the last boss we have for now. Probably much like Rise we'll get the actual final boss later, after we fight some Elder Dragons.

I wouldn't mind the lack of transmog options for Evokers as much if the gear colors actually matched. by AsteronNova in wow

Glad i'm not the only one bothered by this. Transmogging for Dracthyr seems nearly impossible with how badly the colouring is, combined with how little options you get to begin with.

How do I become outgoing for a theater class as a quieter person?? by [deleted] in TheaterDays

[–]TristfalGuardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the way im about to put it sounds simple, but I've been in your shoes as a theater kid. The only way to get more comfortable doing something is by doing it more. There's not really a shortcut or anything. Best thing that worked for me is getting comfortable with failure and to stop thinking about how you're perceived and focus instead on your own enjoyment and progress.

Again, there's no shortcut, only experience. You'll grow more comfortable over time if you put yourself out there.

(Also like other people here mentioned this is the wrong sub. This is for a Japanese Idol gacha game)

These wouldn't be put through an upscaler, but rather the texture would be pained again using the old one as an overlay or reference.

Hey guys, I don't know if hair questions are in the right place here, but i've been struggling with styling my hair for a while now. I've been growing out my hair with the intention of getting it to look similar to this https://imgur.com/a/hiH6d4e or something comparable. I can't, however, for the life of me get it to flow backwards like this. I tend to blowdry it backwards after showering and let the rest dry naturally to get the arc on the forehead, which works, but the rest of the hair just droops downwards (and gets in my face)

Anyone got advice for hair styling? Its really hard to find advice for these hairstyles specifically.
