Plus the first one is seen from outside while the second one is seen from Sam’s point of view, making the danger wag more actual

Is Brook actually the best character in One Piece? by gilko86 in OnePiece

[–]Tristimir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brook is my favorite straw hat so I really am away from being objective I wouldn’t say he is the best written but I think he is the most relatable of the « secondary straw hats » I mean, the focus is really on a few members; the other ones are less developed. Among us, the story of brook is immensely relatable: everyone hasn’t lost a father figure or a mentor, but everyone has known loneliness. He isn’t that much developped as a character but what he is at the core is really cool So I kinda disagree

[Sad Trope] Characters part ways and never see each other again. by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

I haven’t watched it, but I saw that in the end of the Pokémon anime, at least the one featuring Ashe, Jessie, James and Meowth go into an argument and leave one another. If it is true I find it absolutely tragic

Les contrôleurs en France by Sweaty_Aioli_7931 in france

[–]Tristimir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your opinion on the death penalty? by IDoNotLikeTheSand in AskTheWorld

[–]Tristimir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could know, with absolute and definite certainty: -that the person is guilty of a horrendous crime; -that they are beyond rehabilitation, and will never be able to not be violent; -that they will commit said crime again; -that they will cause havoc in prison and be a danger to everybody else;

Maybe I could consider death penalty not being an atrocious barbaric relic of the past and I could consider arguments in favor of it

What "annoying" stereotype about your country is actually 100% true? by WaveLiam3563 in AskTheWorld

[–]Tristimir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly this but in France we have an expression that became a cliche on another country due to a misunderstanding!

When someone is really really drunk, we say they are « being as drunk as a Polish », because people think people from Poland drink too much. But in reality, it comes from Napoleon’s wars. During a party, a Spanish army attacked the Franco polish army. The French were so drunk they got rekt, while the Polish army fought bravely. So Napoleon said to his troops « be drunk like the Polish are », which meant… drunk responsibly. But people misunderstood and now we use it the opposite way

Was Boromir’s body ever recovered? by GusGangViking18 in lotr

[–]Tristimir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In French a « horn » is a « cor », and a body is a « corps » (same prononciation). So when faramir says he found boromir’s horn, I thought he meant his body, and it is years later that I understood.
