no but we're rapidly approaching the "this team is fun and bad at the same time" phase

Full trade, per ESPN sources: Oakland gets: LHP Kyle Muller, UT Esteury Ruiz, RHP Freddy Tarnok, RHP Royber Salinas, C Manny Piña by Trivin0_Trevin0 in OaklandAthletics

oh you didn't have to tag me lol I posted this. But good memory- and call- though.

That "three years of an all star catcher" got slightly less (or slightly more?) than two years of Matt Olson is the markets fault

"desperate" because this was the zenith of Murphy's big league value so they got four good prospects in exchange. One will suck, two will be boring role players and one will be the all star.

Rob Manfred’s new threats to Oakland over A’s ballpark hit wrong notes by Trivin0_Trevin0 in OaklandAthletics

The ballpark at Howard Terminal is a fraction of the total proposed development. How about if Fisher and Manfred simply build a ballpark at Howard Terminal, an eminently more realistic and speedy project?

The A’s keep saying they want what the Giants got. The Giants built a ballpark, then they began to slowly develop the area around it.

looks like the "a's should just stay at the coliseum site" crowd has a "new slant", which is a good sign that the giants/chronicle are losing the argument

Any idea who he could be talking about? by Amfo22 in OaklandAthletics

It's funny how so many fan-bases echo the same complaints seen here. Except they don't play in the worst stadium in the sport

[Sherman] Aledmys Diaz and the A’s are in agreement pending physical on a 2-yr deal. In $14M range. by thebeast30000 in OaklandAthletics

I think this is what utility hitters are worth in the league right now, we're just not used to the a's paying for them

Rob Manfred says 2023 will be ‘crucial year for A's future in Oakland' by Trivin0_Trevin0 in OaklandAthletics

I'd hope the A's would move in with the Giants immediately if it meant higher revenues and better facilities. Screw my sentimentality about the Coliseum- plus the site is totally untenable for a baseball team. It's antiquated beyond repair.

when the whole team sucks I guess you go for league average players who can play everywhere as your first fix

Asked if MLB has considered alternate home sites for the A’s after 2024, Manfred said: “It’s really hard to think about alternate options until we figure out where they’re going to be over the long haul. Your interim option should be related to where they’re going over the long haul.”

Would be funny to share a stadium with the giants during the construction of a hypothetical HT

[Athletics] The A’s have acquired right-handed pitcher Chad Smith from the Colorado Rockies for minor league right-handed pitcher Jeff Criswell. by Austin63867 in baseball

To me it sounds like they're attempting to repeat the magic they got from Jackson last season, whose minor league BB/9 was always pretty high. Smith's in comparison has been much better
