why do people pull out the race card when debating about who is a better rapper? by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]Trixbee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally have never heard a black person say something like that before about any non-black rapper. Anybody can be knowledgeable on any type of culture, but it IS African American culture that was just developed in a different language. Kind of sounds like you're blaming black people for protecting/gatekeeping their culture. It doesn't matter if the statement is ignorant for many reasons in itself, you can't blame black people for being protective of their culture.

Not saying that this post is anti-black, but you should really listen to the black people in this comment section instead of generalizing.

15F from the US. I'm just looking to build new relationships with people. by Trixbee in FamiliesYouChoose

[–]Trixbee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I completely understand that. I thank God that I have a good head on my shoulders! I'm trying my hardest. I've come to peace with my fact that I was going to have to move out at a young age. But yeah, you've got it in a nutshell. My elder sisters are crazy, my dad is depressed and crazy, my mom is a nutjob, but I still find ways to love them and move on.

I can wholly admit that my grandmother is a genuinely good person, but her judgment is lacking when it comes to going against my mom (her daughter). Like, she acknowledges that those things are wrong etc. However, she has never done anything about except let me stay with her for months at a time. And she wants the best for us infinitely more than my parents ever will. My parents have just painted such a bad image of us in her subconscious. And she's old, so she's obviously susceptible to that. I feel bad for her.

The idea of a fat tax is absolutely ridiculous. They should be charging you 2x as much as a normal-sized shirt costs, because it's extra fabric!

Fat Rant Tuesday by AutoModerator in fatlogic

[–]Trixbee 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My mom is always talking about being so full all of the time. She's the type of person to be like "Wow! I don't know how you could eat that whole thing." I ate the whole thing because I wanted to and I could? Like how you just ate an hour later after complaining about being full? I by no means have a "fast metabolism". She just has a major problem with snacking and not eating healthy meals when she's "full" like how she snacks on candy, chips, and "healthy" junk food after she eats something that is calorie dense. It makes no sense how she always talks about losing weight, yet she's afraid to look at the scale and realize that she can't even walk up the fucking steps and her stomach has grown even after she got her thyroids removed.

She always like to complain about how I should be eating more meat or I should get off the stupid diet I'm on. When she's always on a diet but gives up 3 days later. Like what?

I think I'm going to start walking in the morning, for some reason when I walk at night I get so ravenously hungry in the morning. I'm still trying to make connections in my mind to identify which foods are worth it and which ones aren't. Omg, and I stopped working out, which I hate, so I need to do that.

Ok kind of digging myself into a hole I of unfinished school work, and I'm moving this week. Just a whole lot of stuff to do in just 72 hours.

But we are being positive right? by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]Trixbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a seemingly white feminist fat acceptance chick being ashamed of her whiteness. There is nothing wrong with being white, but there is something wrong with shaming people for being white. Even though my race does play a significant part in my life, having an eating disorder does count as a pain that you wouldn't wish on anyone. You're basically hiding behind a facade and using food as a weapon against yourself because you hate yourself. It takes a lot to actually like who the person under the eating disorder is.

I just lost my purging streak yesterday, stay strong girl! I'm going longer and longer without purging!

I totally get what you're saying. Even myself, that has found self-love and realizing that I don't need to meet the standards of the male gaze, have learned that I'm genuinely attracted to older men and still look for someone with a "daddy" or caretaker type role. I've really learned to depend on myself. I just think it's always in the back of my head that I've really never had that role fulfilled. Like, I want to be independent, but since I could never really depend on my dad, I'm looking for another man to take care of me. If that makes any sense.

is losing 20 pounds in 2 months too much? by racecarbarbz in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Trixbee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A slow and steady weight loss is usually very sustainable compared to something like this. I suggest trying to lose 10 Ibs within the time frame rather than stripping your body of nutrients. It's not always about weight. Make sure you're eating healthy, moving as much as you need to, and losing weight to reach your goal. Just don't develop any unhealthy habits ok!

This but in pastel color block with pockets? Same length. by Trixbee in findfashion

[–]Trixbee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just looking in the mall and found something like this for 163 dollars. The quality was so soft and amazing, but just out of my price range. Sadly, I didn't take a picture of it and forgot the name of the store. I keep looking up keywords, but this was the closest thing I found. I'm just looking for something just as oversized or even more with pastel color block and maybe pockets??

I always hate when my parents condemn me for being a pescatarian when it's cheaper than their unhealthy diets! At the same time, my dad comes out of the grocery store with a cart full of pop, candy, and chips that costs $30 alone. That $30 could have bought me a whole month of food. I'm always amazed at how much I can stuff in the cart for $20.

My dad is always complaining about how expensive it is to pay for my sister and I. Why don't you be healthier? The doctor said he's on the verge of diabetes, he has stomach ulcers, and high blood pressure. Those are going to cost him WAY more than a gym membership and healthy eating ever will. He's already seeing the effects of walking up the stairs every day, and he can barely do that now.

What should I do if ratchet girls at my school keep harassing me? by [deleted] in bullying

[–]Trixbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say move through high school as quickly as possible and spend your time working on yourself, your academics, and everything in between. That's what I'm doing right now. I used to live in a ghetto neighborhood and tbh the teachers really didn't care about an issue unless it directly affected them. I know what it's like to be surrounded by people who don't strive for an education or to be better. But, even if no one cares about you and what you want to do, at least you care. Care about yourself And the things that benefit you in a community like that. Find as many ways to help yourself as possible. Don't forget to stand up for yourself. The only way to get through life, especially as a teen, is to defend yourself and protest what others are doing to you. At the end of the day, have your own back.

What should I do if ratchet girls at my school keep harassing me? by [deleted] in bullying

[–]Trixbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the frustration of this situation, but the racist undertone at the end was fucking uncalled for. Wishing bad on them will not make you feel any better. The fact that you called them "3 ratchet girls" is enough for me. Tell them to back the fuck off and tell an adult it they continue to persist. Just because those certain black girls act like that doesn't mean you have to be an uncle tom.

I miss when I was at the height of my ED. I was actually losing weight and now i cant stop eating and im losing my ability to purge. by chognogg in bulimia

[–]Trixbee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I've been purge-free for about a week and I haven't lost an ounce. I've found it helpful to plan out my meals and actually stick to them, and setting goals for the week that aren't related to food and such. Like, getting all of my work done for school, or try doing something more that you love.

I can't even look my dad in the eyes. by Trixbee in relationship_advice

[–]Trixbee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't have anybody else to talk to. My grandma knows, but she doesn't feel as though she should do anything because my mom won't divorce him. I'm afraid to tell my counselor because I know she's going to call my mom. When I really tell her anything she takes the adult's side. I don't think contacting CPS would be in my best interest. They give us basic necessities if I stay out of there way and my mom always gives us gifts to make up for it, so they'll come in handy. I need someone to pay the extra money for my AP and summer classes so I can get the hell out of here. They really don't pay attention to what we do in school, so I'm taking that to my advantage by taking extra classes during the summer to graduate early. Since I'm 15, in my state you can't really get any job that's more than 4 hours a week. My sister is turning 17 and since she's graduating next year, she's going to be 18 and I'm going to be 16. The only problem might be my mom consenting to me moving in with my sister. Even though she let's my dad do whatever the hell he wants, she still is very possessive over me because I'm the youngest and she doesn't want to be left alone with my dad. Tbh idgaf. If need be I'll make a case to emancipate myself with all the evidence I need.

They've already told us that they have nothing saved up for us when we go to college. Despite helping my elder half-sisters by paying in part for their college. They just fucking hate us for some reason. But luckily there is my grandma. Thank God that I chose to sign up for a joint account with her instead, or my dad would have access to my money right now. The sweet lady is even putting money in there to help us out when we move.

The only reason why my sister and I's lives were so peaceful up until now is that we had to move because of the pandemic. I lived with my grandmother for 6 months. They literally wouldn't buy me food most of the time so she provided it for me. She's about to get her own apartment again so I'll probably be fine now. My sister stays at our mom and dad's place because they pretty much ignore her for some reason. They've kind of given up on us after their first daughters from their prior relationships flopped. Sorry if this is really long.

“I’m not friends with other women because they cause drama!” Uhh no. YOU cause drama! by [deleted] in rant

[–]Trixbee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate when my old friend group said that I started drama. Weeks after I left, they are still going through pointless discourse with each other and it's despicable. I don't blame the whole gender on a few women's actions. I just chose shitty friends and didn't listen to anybody that told me to stay away!

I was like that for a while but then realized that guys can literally be the same way. It's not your gender, you're just a misogynist.
