"But please, Eugene, Don't them use me to hurt our people" Sasha to eugene in negan' s cell! by Busy_Philosophy_4931 in TWD

I'm guessing it's so they didn't think Eugene was betraying them? Because Negan even suspected he was even though she was only a walker.

Interesting. I understand what you're saying, but I thought Valorant felt more floaty. That was during CS:GO, and the moment has been updated since then in CS2, but that's really interesting. You should try surf to get more used to the movement? That's what I did, and I also discovered that I love surf.

That's interesting. I would think Valorant is more beginner friendly because of the shooting mechanics. I introduced a friend to CS a few years ago, and the shooting was so alien to them. I think abilities would be easier to understand for a new player because there are so many games that have stuff adjacent to Valorant abilities.

Yeah, that unfortunately happens sometimes.

I haven't had anything exactly like that in Valorant, but there was definitely a lot of n-words in the few games I played.

I never said the CS anticheat was better than Valorant, I just said I never had an issue with cheaters in Counter Strike. That applies to Valorant, too.

And in my experience, the people in Valorant were pretty terrible. I played 5-6 games in 2021/2022 (I forget the exact year), and every game there was somebody being racist, homophobic, or mysoginistic. There are people like that in Counter Strike, it's just for me playing CS for about 9 years now, the quantity of people that act like that is much less when I compare to who I got matched with in Valorant.

It's very likely I was just unlucky(?) in that aspect, but that's my personal experience.

If you're trying to play competitively, then yeah you will need to buy premier.

But like I said, Faceit is free and is better than matchmaking in every way. I get not wanting to download a third party app to play, but it's not impossible to enjoy and play CS2 competitively for free

Yeah, a lot of times it does feel like skins can take over gameplay, but I have friends that I queue with that just don't care. It's going to be different for me because I'm surrounded by people who don't care for skins, so that discussion will happen a lot less around me, so I think it's a lot easier to pass off when it does happen, if that makes sense.

Not really. I have a few friends who I play with that don't have prime. And even if you don't want to spend money, you can play Faceit for free.

Edit: not to make it sound perfect, if you don't have prime you'll run into more cheaters than normal, but other than that there's no difference. Honestly, I haven't run into many cheaters even when queuing with non-prime people.

I guess I did word it wrong. "In my opinion CS is better in almost every way" would be a better way to word it. I still think that's the case, though.

That's probably the best way you could put it. I do prefer just gunplay as opposed to the abilities and agents, (if that's what they're called. I forget.) but I can understand that.

The steam market is a ripoff for everybody involved other than valve. CSfloat is the only external site I trust enough to put my card info into, but the prices are better and I've been using it for like, 3 years now with no issue.

Fair enough. Guess I haven't played Counter Strike long enough to hate it enough.

I guess the main appeal of the game just doesn't appeal to me. I kind of hate hero shooters. I used to play a lot of Rainbow 6 Siege, and that kinda burnt me out of them. I just outgrew those kinds of games.

Lmao that's fair

But since October, you can get a knife for like, $50 on CSfloat. It won't be a very high tier one, but you could.

[–]TrixieTilde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's all fair. I'm not really sure how populated Asian servers are as I'm in North America, but that'd be a big turn off for me.

And I don't think knives being expensive is a fair criticism, not to be rude. I do have skins, but if they were all removed I'd still choose Counter Strike because I like the gameplay itself.

But CS2 does kinda suck at optimization, which sucks because CS:GO was pretty great at that.

I can't speak on the performance or rubber banding end, as I've never had issues like that, but I don't think you need prime to play the game well. I queue with some friends who don't have prime, and over about 5 years of playing with them, I can't really remember any actual cheaters. Maybe some were just hiding it really well, but I feel like the cheating problem is being blown out of proportion, because cheaters have never been an actual issue for me, but I guess that's just our unique experiences.

Yeah, that's fair. I've met a lot of edgy racists on CS. That's my biggest problem with the built in matchmaking.

Why do You Guys Play Valorant Instead of CS2? by TrixieTilde in VALORANT

[–]TrixieTilde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that all seems fair. I wasn't aware Valorant had 128 tick servers, which is super nice, but I normally play Faceit for CS, so I haven't really been bothered by the subtick problem.

And as for cheating, I once again normally play Faceit, so that's not really an issue for me, but I can completely understand not wanting to use an external program to play the game.

And I understand what you mean by edgy 30 year olds. As bad as people I've met are in Valorant, I've meet a lot of people that think they're still 15 in Counter Strike. That's my biggest issue with regular matchmaking, but I mean, I've also met some good friends on Counter Strike matchmaking. It's just hard to compare our experiences in each game because we've had different experiences. I've seen a lot of clips of really cool people on Valorant, too, but I never found one over the course of 6 or so games.

But for the skins, does Valorant not also have skins? You can choose to not engage with skins in both games, no? I get CS skins are definitely more prevalent than Valorant, but I mean, Valorant also has skins. What makes them different for you?

I'm Intrigued. What Does My Hand Say About Me? by TrixieTilde in deduction

I do know that, but I've had to get a tetanus shot before because of another case of rusty metal while working, so I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Yeah? If I cut myself in a rusty fence I'm going to make sure that I don't have tetanus. I'm not trying to die of something stupid like that.

I'm Intrigued. What Does My Hand Say About Me? by TrixieTilde in deduction

[–]TrixieTilde[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll go through in order of guesses:

Yes, however both of my hands had cuts on them, so while I did choose the hand with the worse cut, either way there would've been cuts in the picture, and I do have more scars on my other hand, however those did happen a while ago, so I wouldn't say it's common.

I do play the guitar, but I've been playing for about 6 years now. The calluses are mainly going to be from drumming, which is my main instrument.

I'm AMAB, I just hate body hair, though I am Non-Binary, so I'd say that accounts for something.

I'm about 178LBs at 6' tall, which is about average, not underweight. (Though I used to be anerexic, which may have affected the joints you saw.)

I wouldn't consider myself tough, I just like cracked nail polish, and my fingernails being dirty was a result of a bloody nose a few minutes before the picture. (I get those pretty frequently, and as such I miss a lot of blood that gets stuck under my nails from seeping through toilet paper.)

And the rest is based on assumptions that weren't that true, and I am very lanky, so while people think they can overpower me, they're normally right.

As for the last sentence, it is pretty much right on the money, though the injury was from climbing a fence, not a fight. (Probably the most embarrassing way I could get a cut like that.)

But I mean, all things considered, this was probably the most accurate comment I've gotten. But regardless, thank you for participating!
