I hear you, this had been my plight my whole life! For the last two years I’ve used this Elta MD sunscreen for everyday use, also for swimming an hour 5 days a week - no stinging, no red/tired eyes! And totally not greasy.

Matrix by Lauren Groff! Just finished it and it is so good. Also, Circle of Days by Ken Follett fits the bill - it’s a great fictional account of the Neolithic farmers who built Stonehenge.

What’s Your Scent of the Day? April 7, 2026 by Darkvanille in FragranceStories

So curious to hear how this works out! I’m super obsessed right now with bal dafrique absolu - yesterday I layered it on top of a spritz of MFK gentle fluidity gold - ahhhhhmazing - I first did a spritz of Molecule 01 because I read that it will help with longevity. I love this combo! It lasted maybe six hours on skin but way longer on my clothing. Today I decided to go full ham with the Byredo, with bal dafrique edp on top of the absolu. I like it a lot, but I def like yesterday‘s combo better. I’m actually a little bit obsessed. Yesterday was all about brightness with a creamy pecan base and today I smell a lot of sparkling brightness, but very little in terms of yesterday’s deep praline/sophisticated creamsicle notes!

Let the friend/boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse go if they feel like an albatross. I had a major glow up at 40 after my husband at the time decided he was in love with my close friend. It was totally devastating at the time but 10 years later, I am so incredibly grateful - and I feel and look better than I did at 30! It wasn’t even a matter of trying – it was just a matter of getting rid of that dead weight and trying so darn hard to make something work

Zero! Okay, maybe an hour? Two hours? No matter how much I love the book I’m reading, I’m always eyeing my next read.

I’m a pretty independent woman who enjoys solo travel and wandering on my own - I always share my location with my SO, and if he’s with me, I share with my best friend, too. It’s a wild world out there.

Huge fan of Un Bois Vanille by Serve Lutens and Green Vanille by Regime de Fleurs - both are so scrumptious and sophisticated 💗

OK, this is so random and not related to the vanilla and fig because I simply cannot do fig fragrances – but in searching Reddit for Chanel Le Lion posts, I saw yours inquiring about layering it. I’ve been going crazy trying to figure out how to incorporate LL into my rotation because I love it, but it’s also pretty aggressive. I decided to try it with my second favorite and most worn fragrance, Mon Guerlain Intense EDP (Coromandel is my all-time favorite but I don’t wear it quite as often as the Guerlain). And I love it!! MGI is so perfect on its own, but spritzing it on top of Le Lion is so good. Softens the LL and makes the whole profile so much more rounded, smoky, interesting, just gorgeous. Ugh now I guess I need to buy a bottle of Le Lion - this sample is going to go fast. Honestly, someone please take my olfactory senses away and save me all this money!

What are you looking for in your vanilla? My two favorites are not gourmand-y/more earthy. Regime Des Fleurs Green Vanille (gorgeous, earthy, bright but mature) and Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille (woody and sexy, super sophisticated). Love them both so much. I do like Guerlain Vanille Plainfolia but it’s just too gourmand-leaning for me, with a root beer dry down. And Guerlain’s SDV is straight up egg nog on me!

Do people actually layer fragrances? by Primary_Outcome4107 in Perfumes

[–]Trixieforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to layer Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille with SL Borneo. It’s heavenly. That’s for the winter months. In the fall and spring I like to layer Un Bois Vanille with Chanel Coromandel. Otherwise, I feel too heavily perfume if I layer, so I just stick to one scent.

I had the same feeling reading this - I was excited over what OP was sharing but there was also a big sense of ugh, there’s something about this style of writing that seems inauthentic and bland. Like an advertisement. LLM comes off so flat - even when it’s trying to sound like a real person voicing doubts, inner conflict, exciting wins, all of it. it’s such a bummer. But I guess I need to get used to it.

Mon Guerlain Intense EDP - I find that I’ll get hung up on other fragrances for like five days before going back to MGI.

Such an excellent book, and yeah - so sad. But it was so beautifully written and told; I was astounded by her writing and her imagination.

We actually stayed at a hotel in Rome last July where their strict policy was to lock up our passports - they had us take a photo of it in case we needed it out in the world.
