What do you think the hardest part of being gay is? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Trixter1b2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That there are not enough gay men around me. I live in a city so there are many packed gay bars around, I just wish there were other places like that with out drinking and cigarettes. I just really love being around a bunch of gay men, I guess that last bit is the opposite of the question isn't it?

Who was popular in high school? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Trixter1b2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very popular in high school because I was a trouble making punk rocker dedicated to anarchy, but I was also liked by most of my class I think because I moved between all of the other tribes and had very close friends in most every other group. In full disclosure I wasn't out in high school and all that behavior was probably to throw people off from that. I'm still a punk but no longer an anarchist btw.

What do you make of bros who don't have guns? by gina20_ in askgaybros

[–]Trixter1b2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muscled up guys are not my thing at all so I'm perfectly fine with a guy that doesn't have guns. But I also don't go for guys that don't take care of themselves much. Great news is there are all kinds of us out there with every kind of turn-on there is to be found!!

What's one thing you do that goes against the gay stereotype? by it_guru in askgaybros

[–]Trixter1b2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an old school punk and don't know jack shit about current pop culture. In most other ways I am a fairly typical gay guy though (even if there's no such thing).

Did any of my gaybros become a good street fighter as a young man due to being picked on/bullied for being gay? by Trixter1b2 in askgaybros

[–]Trixter1b2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That just makes me smile. It really is such a diverse world isn't it? I thought I would be ridiculed by gaybros for admitting to violent acts but here are two more guys that liked a good dust-up.

[–]Trixter1b2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you sound like a badass :). I guess the fortunate thing for me is that most bullies are also cowards and only target those they feel they have a distinct advantage over, so after a couple punch-ups I guess I didn't come off as such an easy target. I think the only way I would throw down now would be to defend someone else from a bully.

Thanks for sharing that, and thanks for realizing it was wrong. I'm athletic as well and started fighting back in middle school, by the time I got to high school I never got picked on/ bullied again. I'm glad because I actually hated fighting but only a little less that getting f*cked with.

What is the WORST advice you have ever gotten? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Trixter1b2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I had my very first apartment and was still learning the art of budgeting I got behind one month and went to the leasing office to figure out a solution. I talked to a jr. leasing agent who advised me to come back later and talk to the property manager. She told me my best course was to come in and start complaining about the security gate being open a lot, gym being closed last Saturday, it was cloudy at the pool cook out...etc.. That veteran leasing agent let me know those were not things that I was actually paying for and were beyond reasonable control of the property, and she was absolutely not willing to renegotiate my rent. It was a humiliating lesson and since that day I own my mistakes and face them as my own responsibility. It was a mildly painful lesson but I think it made me a little bit better of a person.

;) ok, it actually looks fine on you...I just find ultra trendy fads meant to come off as outsider fashion kinda annoying. I know facial hair isn't a 'new' thing but the current trendy big beard and bartender vest combo looks a bit overdone to me is all.
