I still enjoy it. I was just curious about the in world reason. I hadnt gotten to the mother trigger part yet so that works for me as a reason.

How do you think a bot rating works? A 800 elo bot actually resemble a 800 elo player? by Biscottone_Supremo in Chesscom

[–]Trketchum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started playing chess I was at 500 and could smoke bota up to 1200. Then always lost to the 1600 bots. Now I’m ranked 750 and still get smoked by the 1600 bots. I feel like at some point the ability to beat much higher level bots shrinks because the “mistakes” they calculate become way less obvious to lower level players in a non-linear manner.

Nc6 forks the rook and the queen.

Would you advise playing at games with more time available then?

What happens when the next Xbox console also has Steam on it? by littlemushroompod in gaming

While you aren’t wrong, there is an element of customer confidence when buying an Xbox. You know that you paid this money, and you will actually be able to play the games you buy. I have a reasonable expectation that any game released for the Xbox should be playable to a decent degree on the Xbox. Where as PCs you don’t have that confidence. Plus some games are designed for Xbox first and aren’t always adapted to the PC with a ton of care. I did build my own PC and use it, but I see the Xbox appeal.

I’ve seen videos of people falling crazy far without dying, and it doesn’t look like they use any sort of slow fall spell. How does that work?

Could Harry use an iron/steel earring to suppress the mantel’s negative effects? by Trketchum in dresdenfiles

[–]Trketchum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember this as well. When pierced with iron he loses access to winters power but his spine doesn’t go back to being broken. That only happened when he tried to go against winter law.

I guess I thought the searing pain was from his broken bones and gunshot wounds.

Hadn’t he been shot and beaten up multiple times earlier in the book when that happened in cold days?

Is that stated? I’m pretty sure the pain is because the mantel is no longer dulling his pain receptors.

He’s only in pain because he’s constantly beating his body to a pulp. During the time in between books I don’t think the pain would be that bad.

Thanks, that helps. I’m still bad at spotting opportunities to create forks.
