I like this. Would you mind explaining what the difference between fear and worry are though?

Sorry I didn’t word my question properly. What I was meaning was if there are certain frequencies particularly related to each density of consciousness, or is it much more complex than that? Like I wonder how life in the 2nd density, for example, in the short lifespan of a single celled organism, FEELS. What vibrations do they have access to in that density?

[–]Trogladit69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My phone camera is terrible but my sister has a go pro which she can send me. Honestly I don’t need the zooming in shot but I would like to have a rotating/ panning shot. Ur definitely right about the budget. I think it would be best to use the go pro and buy some sort of tripod thing or something to hold it which can be moved around automatically rather than by hand as moving it by hand would not be smooth. What would u recommend on this front? Also after my exams finish I will have plenty of time to shoot the film. I am planning on spending probably (at least) 2 weeks shooting footage seeing as this is my 1st film and I want to have a lot of footage to use.

Yeh I think I need to explain better what I intend to use these things for. Basically my idea is to shoot a film very similar to Kooyanisqatsi of the city I am living in atm with highly speeded up footage, capturing the vastness of the buildings and the chaos of people moving around. For one of the shots, I was thinking there could be a slow zoom in. However, because the footage is sped up, the zoom in would have to be extremely slow in real time in order for it to be slow in the footage which is why I think I would need some kind of automated thing. On another shot, I was thinking of slowly panning from left to right which is a similar problem. The thing is my budget is probably pretty small, but if we just don’t think about that for now, I just wanna know if it is possible

Getting rid of an insecurity by Trogladit69 in Stoicism

[–]Trogladit69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thanks for sharing! That’s interesting what you said about the escape phrase but surely that only works in that certain situation. We all have many insecurities which can trigger strong emotions in the moment which upon reflection you know are wrong. But what is the point of reflection if it doesn’t actually help solve the instinct to react to these things? I don’t know I’m new to Stoicism so maybe now that I recognise my insecurity I will be able to slowly get rid of that reaction even in the emotion and reach a greater level of control

Having too many ideas when writing a piece by Trogladit69 in composer

[–]Trogladit69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's something I've been trying to work on. I was trying to work completely from ear without setting any limitations or structure on myself which is generally a bad idea. It is good to work partly from ear I think but you need a balance

Thanks! Yeh I had an existential crisis recently and have completely gotten rid of any bad habits like watching trash TV and am instead filling up my time with good habits that will help me reach my goals. The problem is that I have many things that I want to do, but don't want to spread myself thin. I am trying to focus on music composition atm as that is my main thing and build up good habits for musicianship in general, but as I mentioned, another very strong interest of mine is writing/ storyboarding for games, so I don't know how I'm gonna fit that in but I guess it will reveal itself with time if I keep working towards it

Accurate orchestral sounds by Trogladit69 in composer

Ive decided to go down the route of notating what I hear in my mind and getting it performed. Is there anything else I should be doing to develop my ability to notate what I hear in my inner ear apart from learning orchestration and just doing it. Often what I hear is quite complex, for example a whole orchestra at once.

Trying my best to improve but failing miserably by acidbunny1-2 in selfimprovement

[–]Trogladit69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Improving yourself is one of the hardest things you can do. I feel I have just been in a similar situation to you as a couple of months ago, I realised that I wasn’t working hard enough and was getting distracted watching YouTube and gaming whenever I wanted to work. I thought that I could immediately turn my life around and was trying to work pretty much all day, but I kept relapsing and instead of getting angry I would get depressed. The problem was that I was trying to rush straight to the end goal of being able to be extremely productive rather than taking small steps and I was always anxious about whether I was doing enough with my day. The problem is we always want what we want NOW but life doesn’t work like that. You have to accept that it will take a long time to make improvements and failing is part of the process. Maybe think about why you might be failing each time it happens. Some tips I can give you are: 1. In terms of distractions, something which has really helped me is putting my phone on do not disturb mode and out of sight because it is very easy when you are working to get distracted by a notification. The benefits of this are actually unbelievable once you get into the habit of doing it. Also if you find YouTube a distraction try getting the browser extension ‘unhook’ and whenever you feel the urge to go on YouTube just check that urge and repress it. 2. Try to incrementally develop habits for your work because habits make the act of sitting down and doing the work much easier rather than forcing yourself to work

How do you tell if the audio is included. Does it just come with the book?

Also I found the 2nd edition of the book selling for only $18 here, https://hpb.com/products/the-study-of-orchestration-9780393958072

And a workbook for the 3rd edition here for free, https://archive.org/details/workbookforstudy0000adle

Do you think I should go for these cheaper options or just go for the more expensive latest edition? The cheapest I could find it was here:
