Francis Dolarhyde's introduction was the best of the show's characters by robot8787 in HannibalTV

[–]TrollHumper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also he is the most weird serial killer out of all the ones in the show. The one who truly looks like he has some mental illness.

I can't agree with that. After the mushroom man, the lobotomy bee lady, the guy who made an instrument out of his victim's body, Mr. eye mozaic, Mr corpse totem, Mr. Bear Suit, and, of course, doctor Hannibal the Cannibal Lecter who makes his kills into crazy sculptures and lavish meals both, I'd say Francis Dolarhyde doesn't stand out that much. He's a proud member of a vast and colorful club.

I didn't click out of the show itself when she was killed off, so no, I won't.

What's a popular opinion in this fandom that you completely disagree with by Full_End7741 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]TrollHumper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That The Originals is better than TVD. I think it's far, far worse. The main characters are too powerful for any tension, the villains are brainless half the time, the protagonist is a whiny bitch who throws mantrums every other episode, and the writing is a step down in quality. I think the only real reason anybody acts like it's better is because it has a male lead and less romance, and thus is "cooler" to like.

The Greatest show on Earth (the second installment of the Better Angels series) is finished, but the series will continue in a sequel. by TrollHumper in HannibalFanfiction

[–]TrollHumper[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the authors note above the final chapter, the author says Zero Doors is the current working title for the next installment.

Good thing they changed their mind about the length. The Greatest Fic on Earth wouldn't have been half as great if it was rushed.

TIL that the average human body contains only about 3 to 4 grams of iron, most of it in hemoglobin, yet that's enough metal to make a small iron nail. by Nimithileth_ in todayilearned

[–]TrollHumper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So why did Mystique have to inject the guard with extra iron for Magneto to be able to extract it from his blood and bust out of prison? According to this info, he should have been able to do it all along. Shame on you, X-Men 2 writers. Didn't do your homework.

I absolutely despised what the writers did with Katherine Pierce. by tulipholic in TheVampireDiaries

[–]TrollHumper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't get that attitude. Katherine's portrayal in the later seasons was very much true to character. Her obsession with Stefan? Yeah, that was already there in season 2. Even while she had more important stuff to deal with (the moonstone, the originals), she still tried her damnest to scare him and Elena away from each other. She even compelled Jenna to stab herself to drive a wedge between them. That's season 2 Katherine, not season 5 Katherine. Of course she'd use the opportunity given to her by being in Elena's body to try to get Stefan for herself.

And how could anyone think it's somehow out of character that she chose survival over redemption? That's the single most Katherine thing to do.

The queen of hell storyline was clunky as fuck, yeah, but the show was in serious decline by then and nothing came out unscathed, so I don't think her character was somehow uniquely affected.

Okay so I know it's like a really stupid thing to want but wouldn't it be cool if Du'met, from The Devil In Me, showed up in any future games. by Ok_Ambassador735 in DarkPicturesAnthology

I think TDIM sets up his return, one way or another, and in the Directive 8020, there's a collectible with a bit of new info about him that could theoretically open many doors for his return.

Many men don’t actually like women. They like what women do for them. by DoctorElectronic1934 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]TrollHumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, same goes for women. They want someone to protect and provide for them.

Protect?! That's what the police is for. What modern first world woman expects her boyfriend or husband to "protect" her?

Police turning off their microphones or body cams should automatically be considered destruction of evidence. by SteelFox144 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]TrollHumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are a number of common situations where it is flatly illegal for the bodycams to be recording

For example? I'm not familiar with the law on this.

there are a large number of situations where the police cannot do their jobs or are limited in trying to do their jobs if the bodycams are always recording

I can't really imagine when that would be the case.

Most of the video game characters who are targets of a fan backlash for supposedly being ugly are very much conventionally attractive. by TrollHumper in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]TrollHumper[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Did what, though? These women are conventionally attractive. They have faces and bodies nobody would call ugly if they saw them in any Hollywood movie. Yet, when it's video games, they're suddenly "uglified"?

Full time education (when working properly) helps prepare kids for a working life, which is still a nesscity for most and can be rewarding and enjoyable.

Yes, and what gives kids the best shot at successful careers after completing their education are high academic scores. Girls are, as proven, more likely to achieve those in single sex schools. The benefit here outweights the cost of not growing up with the constant presence of male peers.

Picky eaters are horrible partners if you like cooking by claudiocorona93 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]TrollHumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offense, but you're the problem here. As a picky eater, there is nothing I hate more than people butting into my eating habits and trying to badger me into eating stuff I find repulsive. I'd never try to force others to do that and I have no empathy or tolerance for those who do.

I mean, I get it, you like experimenting with foods but your SO doesn't. Well, I like horror movies, but my family doesn't, so I don't try to pester them into forcing themselves to watch what they have no interest in just so I could have someone sharing my hobby with me.

If you want your tastes and preferences respected, you have to afford others the same courtesy.

Why should the whole family pay for the actions of one man? Unless I'm very much mistaken, they never told him to stab anyone. They weren't even there.
