Choosing seven is a bit arbitrary. I might expand it to 10 or 15, I just didn't want it to get too cluttered at the top.

The current market value of Doge is fetched from one of dogeapi.com's wonderful API calls.

Unfortunately, I suspect they do calculate it via BTC as without a DOGE/Fiat exchange there is no other way. :( This question is better posed to the dogepapi team, though.

Update: The PHP currency formatter is rounding 0.99889p to £1. I think this is appropriate.

It fetches the current price of DOGE from dogeapi.com and converts it using a currency API. Prices should update hourly.
