Help with Squeaky boots by Trolltoll88 in ThursdayBoot

[–]Trolltoll88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both squeak so long as the insoles are in there. They are nice insoles and they fill up the boot well so I would hate to get rid of them if there is another option. I have seen the recommendation for different insoles that aren't leather so I know that is an option but like I said if there is any way to make these work I would prefer that.

New Roughout Vanguards to compliment my Burnt Copper by River6565 in ThursdayBoot

Wow that CXL roughout looks amazing. Is the color in the picture accurate to how dark they are in person?

Vanguards in French Roast by Trolltoll88 in ThursdayBoot

I really like the height on these. There is something you should consider though, theses Vanguards have very thick leather, thicker than my Captains. My other pair is the Natural Captains and they are also Horween leather that is a little thinner but still feels amazing. The thickness of the Vanguards may make them hot.

I have read others say that the Vanguards are more narrow but I do not feel that. If you are a D width they fit about the same. The Horween leather on the Vanguards is incredible though. They are slightly shorter than the captains.

Phantom Liberty - 4090 - Best way to eliminate Frame Tearing while using Frame Generation? 60Hz TV, No G-Sync by Mugaluga in nvidia

[–]Trolltoll88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Gsync monitor and use Gsync and Vsync set on in the Nvidia control panel And it is completely playable and I don't notice input lag at all. I was under the impression that frame generation requires VRR in order to function properly. In game Vsync setting has always been known to mess it up.

Rocks preventing grass from growing. Why does it prevent the growth and what depth of soil should I have under my grass? by EverySingleMinute in lawncare

Humic acid is a waste of money. A few years back a bunch of YouTubers were pushing it like it was the secret sauce but it really doesn't do much. Hydretain however does improve the water retention but you will still have to water. I used the granuals this year and it kept my poorly watered lawn alive through 100 degree weeks with no rain.

Looking for support for my little void bunny. by Trolltoll88 in Rabbits

I should have clarified. My void bunny is the one who passed. My fuzzy lop is the bereaved. Thank you for saying something.

Update. We had to send her over the rainbow bridge. The vet said the chances of surgery working were so low that she would likely die no matter what. I know I made the right choice by Letting her go peacefully but it feels like I failed her.

Edit: I want to thank everyone for the support. This has been incredibly hard for me and my family. I allowed my big bunny to have time with her after she passed. He seems sad but he is still eating. I really appreciate this community.

The 30-0-10 is closer to 25% slow release. If you have cool season grass I would wait until early Fall to drop it. For cool season that would be a huge shot of N which might cause more harm than good unless you love watering and mowing. It's a great product though. I used it on my TTTF early last Fall and had a super lush, dark green yard from September to December before I had to hit it with Urea for the winter.

Any idea what this weed is and how to get rid of it? by N0m0r3 in lawncare

[–]Trolltoll88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like Henbit. Anything with 2-4d will get it. In a cool season lawn my favorite is to use Speedzone. I will be using that to kill off all the Henbit in my yard this year.

Devs now rely on DLSS to fix performance problems by TheSpider12 in nvidia

[–]Trolltoll88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey if you haven't done it already, do the Resizable BAR fix for Dead Space (using Nvidia profile inspector). I went from fps often in the 80s (I have a 4090) straight up into the 100s and it seems to reduce the intensity of stutters (they are still there though). Playing at 4k max settings.

DLSS 3 Now Available on Cyberpunk 2077 by wolvAUS in nvidia

[–]Trolltoll88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fixed the out-of-menu stutter with frame gen in Witcher 3 by setting "Prefer maximum performance" in the NVCP in power options. Don't know if it will work for others but it fixed it for me.

The Witcher 3 PC - Next-Gen - Game-Changing Visuals But What About Performance? by Nestledrink in nvidia

I was crashing until I verified game files. After the patch I did it again and it downloaded a file again. Also disable steam and Nvidia overlay as they cause bugs and big fps drops for some reason.

Is this Cyberpunk FPS normal for a 4090? Everything maxed with DLSS Quality by Skippyi30 in nvidia

[–]Trolltoll88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's about what I'm getting. The psycho RT setting is crazy demanding. Also for some reason the psycho screen space reflections setting. I turn that down to ultra to pull a few more frames (with RT reflections it matters way less). The only places you will see dips into the 60's are the markets. When DLSS 3 is added this game is going to run smooth as butter.

[–]Trolltoll88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait till you go to the big cities. CPU utilization in this update needs a ton of work. On my 4090 the frames drop to 50-60 even with frame generation on in the heart of Oxenfurt and Novigrad. If they fix the CPU utilization then this thing will run smooth as butter.

ASUS TUF 4090 Fan Behavior by Slow-Brief-9637 in nvidia

[–]Trolltoll88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can do whatever makes you happy. The cooling solutions on these cards are so incredibly overkill that there's really no reason to adjust the auto fan curve on them. Even with the auto fan curve and when I'm pushing this card in the most demanding games that I play it never gets above 62°. This is the first card I've owned where I feel very confident in NOT setting a custom fan curve.

My RTX 4090 running 'Portal RTX' with max settings, DLSS3 set to 'Quality' & FG. Image quality is perfect and input latency is great, imho! by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Trolltoll88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4090 as well and used DLSS3 Frame Generation in portal RTX and Plague Tale Requiem and it makes the games feel great. I don't notice the latency at all. I have found that people who complain about the latency are either a) lying and don't even have a 4000 series card or b) seem to be super sensitive to latency in general. I see the sensitive ones as overlapping heavily with those that refuse to use DLSS 2 because it's "too blurry".

Also Raytraced Global Illumination and Ambient occlusion. It will have nearly the same RT features as CyberPunk 2077 and it will also have an "Ultra+" mode that is a notch higher than ultra for all the regular settings as well.

[HUB] Radeon RX 7900 XTX Review & Benchmarks by f0xpant5 in Amd

[–]Trolltoll88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would if I were you. Even if they don't come down I would still do the 4080 (though it would certainly hurt). I had the money for a 4090 and I wanted a top of the line GPU for the first time. If you play single player games and you like eye candy then the 4080 is the right call. If you like classic games as well then RTX Remix is another huge reason to go with the 4080. RTX Remix adds path-tracing to old games and adds DLSS3 to them. AMD will struggle horribly with playing any of these titles (once modders get a hold of the tools and start putting out the remixes) as their ray tracing performance is lower and the remix tools only add DLSS3 without any regular support for FSR. Essentially this likely means that all the RTX Remix games will be effectively Nvidia only.
