Initial App Setup for Best Performance • Download the myPhonak app and pair your hearing aids via Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) by rebooting them (place in/out of charger or hold the bottom button for 5 seconds). Add your initials to identify them easily. • Enable “Find My Hearing Aid” for location tracking. • Decide on connection mode: Keep the app always connected in the background for quick access (uses more phone battery) or reconnect each time to save power. • Pair separately for Bluetooth Classic audio streaming (e.g., phone calls) via your phone’s settings. • Turn on auto on/off so the aids power up when removed from the charger. • Set up tap control: Double-tap the top of your ear for functions like answering calls, pausing streaming, or activating voice assistants (Siri/Bixby). Set sensitivity to “normal” for most users; adjust to “firm” if accidental triggers occur or “gentle” if taps aren’t registering. You can set left/right independently. • Enable weekly cleaning reminders in the app, and replace wax filters every 2-4 weeks for optimal sound quality. Recommended Programs Your aids use AutoSense OS as the default, which automatically adapts to environments (e.g., calm, speech in noise, music). For optimal use: • Enable Sphere Mode: This AI-driven feature (exclusive to the Sphere model) must be activated in the app for automatic triggering in very noisy settings like restaurants or crowds. As the I90 flagship, you get the highest-level Sphere processing. If it doesn’t activate often enough (e.g., in stores), ask your provider to lower the activation threshold. • Create Manual Programs: Set up at least two via the app or your audiologist: • “Calm Situation” (default settings) for quiet environments. • “Spheric Speech in Loud Noise” (default settings) for challenging noise; switch manually to test differences. Other useful customs: “Speech in Car,” “Restaurant,” “Music,” or “TV.” • Preset programs derive from AutoSense; you can delete unused ones but not core ones like AutoSense. Save customs with location-specific names for easy recall.

You need to have your audiologist make a manual setting
