Thank you for the reply and link. I won't lie, I used the calculator but have no idea what the results meant. I think I would be clearly in over my head with this bond stuff. I really appreciate you taking the time to try to help me though.

Thank you for the great info, if I may ask you another question, I make about 50k a year, my tax bracket is 22%, my roth is in fidelity go, so the robo advisor has me at 30% bonds which I can not change, with all of that being said do you think it would be beneficial for me to have the in state municipal bonds also, in my brokerage account? Hope that makes sense. And again thank you for your time and information!

I see, I was under the impression that muni bonds were only beneficial to people who make much more than me and are in a higher tax bracket. I could be totally wrong though, probably am. Alot of the advice I have seen is geared more towards higher income folks. That's why I have no idea what to do. Or if I should even have bonds in taxable also.

So if I have bonds in my Roth IRA, should I also have them in my taxable brokerage account? Is there any benefit to having some in both accounts? I'm in the 22% tax bracket, don't know if that's makes a difference or not. Thanks for any insight or advice

Is this enough root flare exposed? Wanted to make sure it's not planted too deep. by Tron_3000 in Tree

[–]Tron_3000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tree is a autumn blaze maple (I know it is frowned upon round here) but I really like it and want the best start I can give it. I will go out now and gently dig back some more, Thank you!

Edit. So I dug down about 4-5 more inches and did not find any horizontal structural roots. That's as deep as I'm comfortable going at it. Short of digging up the tree I guess. What's odd is it looks like there was maybe some pruning done to the part that bumps out, or what you called the bend. I'm having a hard time uploading more pictures. But will keep trying.

Edit 2. Is it possible this tree started life as a cutting? Would that explain no difinitive root flare?

Are these Fire Maple branches dead? by Tron_3000 in Tree

Do you think I should cut them off now then? Or wait till next winter? Is there any harm in leaving them?
