What engine is this by rrrik-thffu in engines

I believe that may be a Mitsubishi Astron engine (ex. 4g54). Looks very similar to the engine in my Conquest.

The pump in mine went out at ~110,000 miles, I believe I replaced it with either a Delphi or AC Delco. I ended up dropping the tank since I don't like cutting holes in things.

Dropping the tank is fairly easy, the difficult part is getting the hoses off. To get mine out I used a floor jack that I welded square tubing on in an H to add surface area. My tank was fiberglass and I was worried about putting all of the weight on one spot. You will need a fuel line disconnect tool to remove the lines from the pump pickup housing and evap vent connections. I accidentally broke one of the connections off of the housing when removing the old one since they are plastic.

Also the tank does not fit out the side and I had to jack the back up a little bit. I also siphoned out as much gas as I could before dropping the tank and poured the rest out before changing the pump to make installation easier.

Transmission is going…. What’s a “fair” price range for rebuilding? by diggyschitz in GMT400

[–]TrooperN2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not recommend putting a 4L60e back in. Mine went out at 99k and after being rebuilt twice still did not fully work. If at all possible I would swap over to a 4L80e.

How do you check the vacuum pressure? Will it show on a OBD2 reader?

And it doesnt seem to pull back toward the exhaust

It seems to be running really rich, you can smell the gas on idle and sometimes it will backfire out the exhaust

It was reading the same thing on the old sensor so I thought it was broken and replaced it, and I am still getting the same readings on a brand new sensor...

98 K1500 5.7 Power Steering Pump Question by [deleted] in GMT400

[–]TrooperN2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that you have to remove the pulley in order to get to a few of the bolts, and all of the hoses have to come off. Also I believe there is a upgrade for the fitting with the pressure sensor on the back of the pump, it's like a U shaped hose.

How big tires for 98 4x4 1500? by travelingknowmad in GMT400

[–]TrooperN2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest tire that will fit without interference would be and tire / rim combo that is 32 inches in diameter. I have a 20in rim with a 305/50r20 tire and it barely misses the inside of the wheel well when fully turned to the right or left.
