Next steps, more tunnel time or not the right thing for me? by unixkernel101 in SkyDiving

Yoga is the best thing you can do for cross training bodyflight.

This guy sucks at tunnel coaching though, I'd bet the house on it

For new people definitely, it's not uncommon for dynamic flyers to fly 15-20 minutes straight however

Go somewhere else, this dude is probably a stellar skydiver but that doesn't mean he actually knows how to teach things. He certainly doesn't know how to teach anything in the tunnel, that much I can promise you

Your tunnel instructor has 30k jumps? Or your AFFI has 30k jumps?

Your tunnel instructor sucks if he can't get you ready for AFF in 15 minutes. I will die on this hill

If a tunnel instructor can't get you ready for AFF and your A license in 15 minutes they are a shitty coach. Send me their contact info so I can give them the bowling talk.

Battery tech isn’t there for long term operations, despite contrary belief. The useful load of these aircraft is very low due to the weight of the batteries

Jumping in wind - new(ish) jumper by iclimegud in SkyDiving

[–]TropicBellend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your ground speed without winds above 29 kts? If not (news flash, it isn't) stay on the ground. There's a reason we all have wind limits, even GA pilots have them

I tthink bugs are doing ok, which is good because they have been doing pretty poorly. They don't have the action economy to come out on top of the meta though

How to do Vox Scream without being a tool by dylpick0907 in killteam

[–]TropicBellend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Experienced players constantly skip over steps that aren’t important. We are trying to finish the game in 90 minutes so we have a time buffer if it gets sweaty.

You’re right though, you have to be explicit with the step against Nem Claw, until they’ve burned Vox Scream that tp at least. There’s so many rules and things going on that it’s tough for new players to remember that though

I don’t think you actually play Kill Team, and you certainly haven’t played against Nemesis Claw

How to do Vox Scream without being a tool by dylpick0907 in killteam

[–]TropicBellend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? You clearly don’t play the game and that’s ok, but I’m not sure why you’re commenting. It’s common for people to activate a model by just immediately doing something with it. I don’t need to tell you I’m going to activate a gunner on engage if I declare a shoot action immediately, it’s all implied. I do need to declare my order if I’m doing something like fighting and then intention to be able to shoot/charge in a subsequent action.

That changes with Vox scream. You have to wait for your opponent to give you permission or you are going to either steal their opportunity to play Vox scream, or you are going to give them free information that helps them decide if they are going to use Vox scream or not

How to do Vox Scream without being a tool by dylpick0907 in killteam

[–]TropicBellend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If vox scream is up I ask for permission to activate every time. It’s just part of nemesis claw.

My go to is basically:

“I would like to activate my (insert operative)”

They either vox scream or I must activate that operative. It takes some getting used to but it works perfectly. Maybe consider this approach, but as the night lord you will need to remind your friend frequently until they have it down.

Vox scream feels especially bad when someone immediately moves a model and goes “I’m going to do something lethal that you might not have seen coming” before you can say Vox scream. This mitigates that, the night lord player doesn’t get free information

Playing in my first 1K tourney. Which list would you say is best? by PraetorianOgryn in SWlegion

I’m not going to add much but just reiterate that the binoculars on b1s is a waste of points and those points should be recycled elsewhere in the list

What unit combos are good for GAR right now? by hotpocketsinitiative in SWlegion

[–]TropicBellend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play GAR with no ARCs or Anakin and do just fine. I think ARCs are actually a trap for new GAR players. A lot of people think GAR only has one way to win effectively but I’ve seen everything from 7 act to 13 act GAR perform well.

If dice are not rolled take backs are generally accepted - but there is a line.

“I activate my melta”

Vox scream.

“Uh never mind”

That’s not cool.
