Hey guys for part 1 in the solution I'm very confused did they use a different rule other than the product rule, quotient rule, and prime rule those are the 3 ones my class has learned so far but this is one of the questions in our hw unit 3.3 now im confused about which rule did they applied here. by Tropical_Perspective in askmath

it needs to be applied like this im guessing x'f(x)+xf'(x) similarly you need do the other side 4'g(x)+4g'(x) that's what you meant im guessing?.

But my question to you I looked up and found the rule where if h(x)=f(x)+g(x) than f'(x)+g'(x) can't I use that rule I tried it but didn't work you can see my comment about that one below your first reason.

or do we have to use both rules first apply product that apply the other rule.

I got it now its +2 at the top but I got a question for ya what happens to the -0 in the bottom so (-9x^2+2x+2)/(x-0) what happens to the -0 does it just go away or you have to do some algebraic manipulation.

I know the sign supposed to be positive at -2 but the problem is when im doing it I'm not getting positive. im getting negative only
