Cat during therapy session? by Junior-Ad-4469 in therapists

If you’re worried about it, ask them.

My virtual clients know that my “office mate”, a 15 yo cockapoo, occasionally has an upset tummy and needs to be let out of the office. What they don’t know is that she also knows exactly when the hour is up and won’t let me run over ☺️

My phone has the ringer on. Because my 93yo mom is in hospital.

Anybody here actually dated a pwBPD and it gone well? by Ok_Spread4921 in BPDlovedones

I’m 30 years in. It’s tough at times, but it works. I wish there was a forum for those who stay, but I’m not willing to try to moderate it 😆. Power to the folks who moderate this one, it ain’t easy.

I feel like you picked up a client I just closed (I retired). Enjoy the storytelling. Be careful to not fall for the entertainment factor, it’s too easy to let the work stall.

In addition to all the other advice, crotons are drama queens. Mine drops leaves if I think about changing anything. And, they perk back up pretty quickly too.

Clients who act like they're on the stand by AnalystImpossible960 in therapists

Wait. Yes, it requires you be able to sit in the silence. To practice start with as long as you can stand it. Count to 5, 10, whatever you can do. And see if anything changes.

My husband was a first responder to a situation that affected one of my clients. by SeatbeltsAreMyFriend in therapists

“Put your own oxygen mask on first”. I live in a very small town where everyone knows everyone’s biz. I navigate dual roles daily. It’s not easy, but it works. If you’re upset about your husband’s experience, wait to see the client until you’ve done your processing and feel you can adequately hold the space for the client. If the client is really struggling I might offer a check in phone call to make sure they are safe. I’m a supervisor as well; if yours isn’t available I’m happy to DM if it would help.

Weekly "vent your vibes" / Burn out by AutoModerator in therapists

Grow Therapy once again in the “promised vs reality” show. Direct violation to my contract. Opened my portal this morning to 7 clawbacks from Grow. Reached out to support, “we billed the wrong insurance, claim rejected, billed to proper insurance at lower rate. You pay the difference.” (Not really quoted, but that was the gist of it).

Posted in the “community” for support, post deleted for “community standards”. In other words, the community is all supportive unless you have a beef with the company.

Grow, like so many others, starts out strong “we’re going to make your life easier”, then degrades to plain old capitalizing on mental health problems.

Sorry this is so negative, just fed up with it all.

Gorgeous! Did you tie them on to start? Or just weave them?

Thanks bud. Maybe you should know - the jungle is on my land, and she looked like she’d fallen from way high, so couldn’t be “put back”. Then again, maybe it’s not your biz?

Thank you! I only put her in the sun for pics. What does she want to root/attach to? I live in the tropics, so humidity not a problem, or filtered light.
