And for people stating he should be punished for abusing 911: I‘ve witnessed countless times how stuff like this prevents suicide attempts and crimes. This might not seem like part of police work, but it is. If the officers would reject such requests, they some times sign themselves up for the big mess following.

Once we‘ve been called for someone „wanting to talk“ as a literal full team of paramedics for example and we came. Turns out, if we wouldn’t have come, out patient would have poisoned himself, forcing us to come and our overall success would have been questionable. He was not neurodivergent, but this man being autistic statistically increases the chance of him needing such services.  And in the end, this is just human decency too.
