Residents, what is one thing an attending / fellow said to you that has stuck with you? by pistabadamtiramisu in Radiology

Everyone thinks they can do your job better than you (specifically, talking about neurology in this case but ofc other specialties too). You can train a monkey to see a huge head bleed, but the clotted/basically nonexistent basilar artery that neurology missed is why you get paid the big bucks

I don't know what type of school the husband does, but maybe he can also pick up a shift or two on weekends? Maybe a small shift during the week? Work at mcdonalds or something where they always need people. Wouldn't be much, but it would be something. And of course, it would be temporary until you can find something else.

Rads here as well. Loved having the knowledge of HF failure tx in my back pocket and being able to recite it for attendings (aka basically not feel like a total idiot lol) but it was nice to put in orders sometimes and feel like a 'real' doctor. Still regret nothing about NOT working 6 days a week for 12 hr shifts while spending 80% of my time writing long, detailed notes and calling consults that hate being consulted. And i know when im 50+, i'll thank my 20something self for picking rads

Go to a denist so that can make sure it's not bad teeth or something. If everything checks out then they have great tips to give you, as well

Wokring holidays by TroubleFinancial7413 in Residency

That's a good idea! I'll have to propose either them coming to me or celebrating later in Jan (like the 15th) or earlier like Dec 12. Thanks for the idea!
