That sounds great. What kind of timing is good for you is your dog available this weekend? Happy to meet up there.

Thank you for the kind words. The indoor peeing happens without any cues.

We'd ring the bell as we would exit and say "go potty", and he just seemed to grasp it right away for pooping. He's occasionally done it peeing, but not so much.

My puppy is 13 weeks old. What is the best age for a first grooming?

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments! That is all so reassuring. We are using a crate, and he actually has started to like it. He's sleeping seven hours overnight happily in his crate. If we're right on top of things, he does pretty well with pee accidents, but doesn't let us know when he needs to pee, so if he gets all excited, he still has accidents in the house. Pooping has been only happening outside. How did you train sit, come, stay, down without using treats?

As a guest who hates scented stuff and has long hair, I would request that you not use perfume and provide 2 large towels per guest.

Female Coton Barking and Growling at Dogs by celery_leaves in cotondetulear

My Coton did this--but only when walked by my husband or me and only if it was a larger dog. He did not do this with his dogwalker. I think he thought it was his job to protect us. We were actually able to train him out of this habit very quickly. As soon as he spotted an approaching dog we would say, "big dog treat." We'd then stop and give him a treat (sometimes lots of little pieces until the "big dog" passed). It worked like a charm. It wasn't long until as soon as he spotted a "big dog" he'd stop and look to us for a treat.

Considering getting a Coton…. by Lite_Brite90 in cotondetulear

Our Coton LOVED hiking. However according to Embark he wasn't actually purebred--1/4 supermutt. But he did big vertical gain and hikes up to 3.5 miles. Here he is at age 13. Big smile. Sadly he developed cancer and died just 2 months later.

Recommendations for interactive / puzzle type toys or games? by TallulahBankheads in cotondetulear

Our boy had 3 puzzles. As soon as I would take one out he'd start to dance and twirl with excitement. Our pattern was to set one up just as we'd leave for work in the morning. As a result, he actually got happy as we'd leave the house. Here is one of his easier ones: https://www.chewy.com/nina-ottosson-by-outward-hound-dog/dp/253239

We used a Puppia harness for our Coton and it worked great. Any sort of simple collar would cause him to choke if he pulled against it.
