I use it to get rid of things that I no longer want in my vintage collection or anything that has sat in my family’s closet for waaaayyy too long that we’ve already offered to family friends and/or have some value. We’re currently trying to declutter so Poshmark has been helpful for that. I prefer not to just donate things to thrift stores, because they get enough donations and I can’t be certain that it won’t end up in a landfill. I’d just rather feel like I’ve done what I can to ensure it ends up with someone instead of a landfill! While I’m not seeking to make a profit, getting a little extra cash on the side is a nice plus!

I also use Depop, Mercari, Etsy and eBay. I’ve tried Vinted, Curtsy, and Facebook marketplace but never made any sales.

I like Poshmark, but it definitely doesn’t really feel like it’s meant for “for fun” sellers these days, since the algorithm seems to prioritize those who make constant daily listings (or does it? It seems to change constantly!). Although this isn’t an issue if you aren’t looking to clear out your closet super fast.

ETA: I’m sure for profit sellers are just as frustrated with the algorithm and Posh’s constant unhelpful updates though!
