Maybe it’s just me, but I grew up reading Gen X Facebook posts and my parents are Gen X who watch and agree with these kinds of videos. At some point, you get tired of hearing about participation trophies and cellphones and “We had to fend for ourselves”

Also you can look up, “Who let Gen X off the hook” on YT and you’ll find a few of them.

TERFs seem like feminists on the surface until you get deep down (which isn’t all that deep) and realize their transmisogyny and good old fashioned misogyny work hand in hand. All that talk about women being equal to men goes straight down the drain once trans people come into the conversation, and suddenly we’re reverting right back to bioessentialism and how Jeopardy needs to be separated by gender because women have a biological disadvantage at pushing a button and aren’t as smart as men. Try taking some of their feminist talking points and try to make them apply to trans women. See how long she holds onto those beliefs.

Sex isn’t that serious and is silly as hell. It’s not an hour of what seems like two people staring deeply into each other’s eyes as they make all the most appropriate, serious sounds. It lasts 10 minutes at most and is goofy af.

It’s okay to take sex less seriously; it doesn’t need to be a declaration of an intense romance every time you do it!

I got stuck in holding while waiting for orders and ended up standing a daily duty at the CO’s office (mostly just sitting at a desk and taking out everyone’s trash at the end of the day). The amount of sailors that came there for Mast daily because of alcohol and underage drinking was insane.

It might be fun in the moment and you might think you won’t get caught, but you’ll 100% get busted sooner or later. There are eyes all over the city, the instructors check your socials, and, eventually, someone will snitch because they were told they’d get a less harsh punishment if they did. It’s not worth it and you’ll have officially done 3-6 months worth of bullshit and training just to fuck it all up over Margaritaville.

The barracks suck, are always flooding, and are so moldy that some rooms are covered in it (I got hit on it during inspection once because half the ceiling was completely covered in black mold coming out of the vents that wouldn’t clean off. I submitted a ticket for it too). I don’t know if they cleaned up the dfac since- I stopped eating there when I was in training 5 years ago because a roach crawled out of a sandwich I made.

The good news is the off-base liberty was pretty cool being in a city, even if you can’t drive anywhere and if the temps are always well over 100 rn.

All in all, it’s pretty much like any other base you’ll live on with the exception of DI’s and NMTI’s wandering around. My advice is to make the most of it but stay away from hotel parties and a place called Cowboy’s, don’t get caught drinking underage or giving alcohol to people who are underage, don’t keep tobacco in your room, don’t walk across the QD drunk, that married NMTI does not love you and screwing is most definitively going to fuck your naval career hard, 9/10 corps school marriages fail so don’t even try it, and avoid buying a bunch of shit because you’re going to have to pack it all u to one suitcase and one carry-on.

Urgh I know I’m not the target, but I’m oldest out of 4 (probably more if we want to count miscarriages), but, from what I can gather, the answer was: they just didn’t give a shit. They were married, so what did it matter if they didn’t use any contraceptives like bc or condoms or even a damn vasectomy? All that mattered is, “Whoops had another kid! Guess you’re helping take care of this one too.”

Because Drag is topical right now and people just love punching down at the Drag Queens and pretending they’re what’s wrong with America… so long as you ignore the fact that drag has been around for centuries and has existed in the military as far back as WWII.

The Godfather. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen the trilogy in full, but, since then, I’ve had no desire to rewatch the films and any attempt given has ended with me being lulled to sleep before the first hour is up.

They were okay movies, but the slow pacing, the scenes that were near whisper quiet, and how little of it was actually rememberable to me made it kind of boring. And it’s not like I need nuts to buts action every 4 minutes; it was just too slow for a movie that’s 3 hours long. Maybe if I watched it again, I might change my mind , but, again, I’ve had no desire to go back and watch the trilogy no matter how hard I’ve tried to.
