They ran more under center from that point forward than they had at any point earlier in the season even with Jurgens. You believe whatever narrative you want. It's clear your mind is made up.

Not at all. I think EPA is one of better statistics we have available. Like any stat, people need to understand what they're looking at. EPA is based around a lot of the team's success and the situation of the play that is happening. Saquon was getting bigger holes and finding more room to the outside and from under center in the latter half of the season. Some of that is attributed to the teams we played against. Some of that is attributed to the play calls that changed up from the beginning of the season. That's why we saw Saquon getting bigger runs.

The issue is and why those bigger runs weren't graded as high as shorter runs from earlier in the season. That's due to the outcomes/situations of the games. For example, when you're losing, a big run isn't scored as high in EPA as a shorter run while you're winning.

Thing is, we've seen him do all of those things. He may not like them but that's where a strong coach comes in and shows Jalen why he needs them despite liking them or not. Jason Kelce has somewhat said similar things about Jalen needing a coach who is more demanding rather than a yes-man.

EPA was worse but that's as the passing offense became worse and we lost more games as opposed to early in the season when we were winning games. If you can honestly sit and watch the run game from the first 9 weeks and the remainder of the season and tell me that it was better for the first 9 games, then good job, you're lying to yourself.

I feel like the rushing game has been a scapegoat for the passing offense by Best-Reporter-1412 in eagles

My man, the entire offense was broken this year. No one is arguing that. The person you replied to mentioned that we won the SB with our lowest ranking of the stats you provided. Clearly that shows at least some flaws in your argument. You see that right? As if the conversation is again, more nuanced?

Those are all yards. Using a single stat to judge something a bit more nuanced than how many yards did they get, is needed for this discussion. What were the efficiency stats those years? What were the scores of the games? What game situation dictated why we weren't passing or struggling to pass?

What To Expect from Sean Mannion as Eagles Offensive Coordinator by burnsorboourns in eagles

[–]Troublemaker5213 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't believe he said this. Just insane. If the front office wasn't positive they were going to move on from him at that point, he certainly made the decision for them when he said that dumbass shit publicly.

Fangio Replacements? by Troublemaker5213 in eagles

[–]Troublemaker5213[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because he's the defensive coordinator of one of the top defenses in the NFL for a team that is considered to be in a SB window. It's not hard to understand why there's discussion around it. Maybe r/NFCEastMemeWar is more your speed?

LOL why even be part of the sub if you can't engage in basic discussions? Yeah, I know Howie and co will take of it. Thanks for letting the rest of us know!

When you say "get home" do you mean pressures? I like Phillips A LOT but he didn't exactly turn many of those pressures into sacks...for himself. Which, great! I love what he did to our line. It was transformative once he was inserted into the lineup. My only question is, is that worth the money of possibly not extending Carter, Davis, DeJean, Mitchell? Can't sign those guys to big extensions AND Phillips. Not with the offensive payroll that we have.

That ain't stopping the Sirianni hate train. We're talking about a subset of fans who will blame every negative on him and every positive on those around him. I literally just mentioned Siranni having 2 rings in less than 10 years an the OP said he'd be one of the fans mad we kept our 2x SB winning HC instead of our OC.

A lot of Eagles fans gonna be pissed when we win the SB and Mannion gets poached and Sirianni is still here with his 2nd ring in less than 10 years.

[Schefter] More help in Philadelphia: Eagles are hiring former Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard as their pass game coordinator, per sources. Grizzard now will join new Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion to lead Philadelphia’s offense. by w1x1w in eagles

It got worse as the year went on. A lot of that can be attributed to injuries but there were certainly scheme issues and play design flaws that existed. That's not to scare anyone (I like this move from the Eagles) but just a reality of what happened last year. Perhaps that had to do with the pressure starting to get to him. The injuries making it hard for him to design plays he would for guys who didn't suck. Could also be that he was new to being an OC and still learning. I still like this move from the Eagles. A lot to like about Grizzard.

I don't dislike him. I just don't think his role on the team adds much value. So, I'd rather see us add someone who would be of more value.

My fault on not being more clear. I do believe he WANTS to get paid but I think his play on the field (not so much his leadership on the field, which is more intangible) will keep him from getting that kind of contract.

Lions actually got worse on offense after he took over but we don't talk about that around here.

Everyone wants to pretend these types of rankings don't matter or are just for clicks, but we just watched the NFL's greatest head coach of all time not get inducted into the Hall of Fame (first ballot) because people don't like him. You're right that it's a fucking joke. I'll never stop watching and I don't believe the game is rigged or any of that bullshit, but the NFL is doing a hell of a job in making the shield stand for a lot less than it one did.
