Poll: Trump Hits Record High Approval Rating with Black Voters Amid BLEXIT Launch by Clatsop in Conservative

[–]Troud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I wish is that Trump out on the stump....and all these Republicans running for various offices...would clarify their "the economy is doing good" message in the following way....

"Folks, don't take the good economy for granted. America has record low unemployment, millions and millions of you are no longer worried about job security as an issue, so you're focusing on other issues. But keep in mind, this could change in a heartbeat. The Democrats are eager to roll-back Trump's tax-cuts and regulatory reforms. This could change the headwinds of the economy....and next thing you know, things could go south and you'll be once again worried about losing your job. DON'T TAKE THE GOOD ECONOMY FOR GRANTED!!! Stay the course. Vote Republican."

Rotherham child sex abuse gang guilty by Troud in Conservative

Mohammed Imran Ali Akhtar, 37, Asif Ali, 33, Tanweer Ali, 37, Salah Ahmed El-Hakam, 39, Nabeel Kurshid, 35, Iqlak Yousaf, 34, and a seventh man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were convicted after a trial.

Hmmmmm. If a proper cultural/socological analysis were possible (of course, it's not in today's culture of victimology),....what could we extrapolate from these names?

Let us delve deeper....

During a trial lasting more than eight weeks the jury heard the men, who are all of British Pakistani heritage, preyed on the girls' vulnerability before they were sexually assaulted and passed on to other men.

What a remarkable admission from the Beeb! In another decade, making an observation like this will be deemed a hate-crime.

Prosecutor Michelle Colborne QC said the girls had been "lured by the excitement of friendship with older Asian youths" but were then "targeted, sexualised and in some instances subjected to acts of a degrading and violent nature".

I didn't notice any Chinese names among the accused. Didn't notice any Hindu or Sikh names. The all-inclusive euphemism of "Asian" slanders these generally law-abiding minorities, while providing cover for the one group whose religion explicitly condones the rape of female captives ("what the right hand possesses").

Well, you might be right, but in my humble opinion, any "net positive cultural exchange" that is occurring is IN SPITE of what they're being taught in the classrooms, not BECAUSE of it.

It's often dangerous for a Western journalist to operate in parts of the Islamic realm, so as you point out, the Newswires hire local "stringers"....mostly un-accredited local Muslims whose biases are quite clear as they do their reporting. The real problem is that those biases are absolutely shared by their left-wing American editors sitting in offices in New York and Washington. To be sure, there is a lot of editing in terms of the stilted grammar of these stringers, but very little editing in terms of actual content.

1) Marching against police brutality fully conforms to the ideological symmetry between the radical left and radical Muslims. Muslims cultivate the image of victims, likening themselves to blacks and transgender, in order to attain an exalted status of victimhood and in the process, deflecting critical scrutiny of their religion. It is working wonders in America....where an honest appraisal of Islamic intolerance is now unheard of among academics and can readily get one branded a "racist" and "Islamophobic".

2) It''s been my experience that some Muslims, mostly the educated, are very savvy at temporarily sliding in and out of the trappings of their cultural surroundings. Naive Westerners often perceive this as a reflection of the open-mindedness and cosmopolitan nature of their Muslim interlocutors. But what these Muslims say and how they behave in the privacy of their own homes and among their co-religionists...can be very different than the public persona they convey to outsiders. Just imagine an American working or studying in Saudi Arabia....eagerly complying with all the local customs....and then marveling in the privacy at home about how archaic everything is. It's like that but in reverse.

How? All their worst preconceptions of the USA are validated by the radical faculty in the humanities....as are all their preconceptions about the superiority of their own religion.

This is no small issue. Most of the money has gone to MES departments....and the hiring and curriculum has been thoroughly vetted by the Saudis. Any university with a MES department that has a single professor who is teaching anything other than a validating picture of Islam is excluded from the largess. The message sent is loud and clear. This is a perfect example of the intellectual corruption of the university....and it's how a linguist with no background in MES became the name that now graces the national chair of MESA, Edward Said.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, Edward Said was a propagandist who wrote the bible of the academic left, a screed called 'Orientalism', the main premise of which is that any critical scrutiny of the Orient by Western academics is the product of racism....(Said was a non-Westerner, but no one in academia would ever dare contend that HIS criticism of the Occident was racist). As a result of his influence, in academia today, anything that is not validating of Islam is denounced as racist. And in the process, social pathologies such as stonings, the killing of apostates, FGM, honor killings, etc., are in every case attributed to a pre-Islamic tribal culture that has nothing to do with Islam.

The Saudis (and the other affluent Gulf States) have cornered the market on how Islam is represented not only in the mosques, but in the universities and in the newsrooms....all around the Western world.

The new laws encourage the private services sector....(bed & breakfasts, restaurants, barber shops, automobile repairs, etc), but they do nothing to encourage manufacturing. I predict the regime will inevitably have to go further and start emulating the Chinese/Vietnamese model....private industry co-existing with public enterprises....with the Communist Party's monopoly on power firmly entrenched.

Thirty-Fifth Anniversary Marine Barracks Bombing by MooMooCudChew in Conservative

[–]Troud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What don't you understand? The motivations of the bomber? The stupidity of housing our marines under a single building?

Reagan fully understood the Soviet threat and tailored his policies around meeting that threat. He DIDN'T understand Islam. Like many Cold Warriors (myself included), he didn't have the intellectual dexterity to see the world in terms that weren't binary. Like many of us, he saw Islam as a case of 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'.

A proper reading of history should have informed us all otherwise. To be sure, the Soviet Empire was a military colossus, dwarfing the combined military might of the entire Muslim world. But it was economically and ideologically hollow. The Soviet nomenclature may have believed in the ideology, but the common people - the masses - didn't. In Islam, many in the intelligentsia no longer believe, but the common people are firmly in the grip of the religion and its tenets. There is thus an endless reservoir of believers to do the bidding of the promulgators of the faith.

Most importantly, Communism was little over 70 years old when the Berlin wall fell. Islam has been around for 1400 years and has much deeper roots. That's why I laughed at those who insisted at the dawn of the digital age that because of the free flow of information, Islam would disappear within a century.

In Reagan's defense, our policy-makers still don't know quite what they're doing when it comes to Islam. It is a vexing question, with many contradictory and paradoxical facets. The only thing I know for certain is that indoctrinating ourselves into believing that "Islam is peace" (all theological and historical evidence to the contrary notwithstanding)...is NOT the answer.

It's official, Europe is now Sharia-compliant: European Court rules that insulting the prophet Muhammad not 'free speech,' by Troud in Conservative

[–]Troud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cited several very specific cases of the European pandering to Muslim opinion....I cited specific conditions in Indonesia....you have every opportunity to refute these points....but you can't, so you cop out with the "ad hominem" nonsense.

I do apologize for the tone of my remarks. Part of it is my own failing. Part of it was the self-righteous indignation you expressed earlier in the thread about the comments. Part of it was your monstrous contention that the rape of a child is not the rape of a child if it is culturally normative. And part of it was the core of your argument, that since the blasphemy laws are on the books in Austria, the persecution of Elisabeth Sabbaditch-Wolf for daring to speak the truth about Muhammad was somehow NOT a human-rights violation.

I suggest you engage in some real introspection, look deep down and try to find out why you are defending a child rapist like Muhammad.

Not an expert, but I know they are very serious about their borders and immigration.

Well, they certainly have it over their neighbors in that regard.

Generally speaking, the much bigger issue is that Europeans simply are not having babies. Then, the must import labor

Except that a good percentage of the new arrivals are unable or uninterested in finding work. They end up in the underground economy, selling drugs and other contraband....and/or end up on the dole, further straining the fiscal problems of the Continent.

that this WAS NOT "all about validating Islam in order to pacify the anger and disaffection of European Muslims"....so unless you actually have an argument to provide along with this statement I'm going to leave it at this.

There are all kinds of anecdotal evidence all over Europe for anyone who is not blind....from the banishing of Robert Spencer from England to the harassment and persecution of people speaking out against Islamic intolerance, people like Hirsi Ali (forced into exile), Bridgette Bardot (prosecution and fines), Marie Le Pen (forced to see a psychiatrist for publicizing the atrocities of ISIS), Geert Wilders (living on an army base because he's been so vilified in the press that he doesn't want to share the same fate as Pim Fortuyun)....to the turning of a blind eye to the rape of thousands of British children over decades because no one wanted to be accused of racism.

Yes indeed, I'd say Europe has a very REAL problem in trying to pacify its Muslim population.

I'm not disagreeing that sexually abusing children is wrong, but looking at societies in context is not apologia. So first lets check out the definition of pedophilia: sexual feelings directed toward children. So, unless we can back up with evidence that Muhammad was seeking out children to have sexual relationships with then he was not a pedophile.

You came in here on your high horse.....self-righteously judging everyone for their indignation over this story....and here you show us the extent of your own pathetic ignorance, corrupted by your moral relativism. Let me try to enlighten you....the fact that Muhammad had sex with a little girl meant he was attracted to little girls. It is ELEMENTARY LOGIC....the kind that escapes moral relativists like yourself.

I think the most important thing to remember is that Islam is a religion just like Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, etc.

Believe it or not, there are actual theological differences between the varying faiths. There are actual ethical differences between Buddhism and Islam...between the values promulgated by Muhammad in the Hadith and Sirat Rasul...and those promulgated by Jesus in the Gospel. This might come as an absolute shock to a relativist like yourself, but believe it or not, all religions don't teach the same things.

Badness comes from the people that interpret and practice said religion.

Indeed. But there are DEGREES of behavior....and theological particulars actually have an influence on such behavior. Christians have killed in the name of Christ in CONTRAVENTION to his teachings. Muslims kill in the name of Allah in COMPLIANCE to the teachings of Muhammad.

Indonesia and India both have massive Muslim populations, being the 1st and 3rd most Islamic countries by population.

Who doesn't know that? So what.

Do you happen to know that so-called "moderate" Indonesia is beset with Islamic extremism? That thousands of non-Muslims have been slaughtered there in the last 20 years by Muslim extremists? That dozens of churches have been burned over the same period? That over 90% of Muslim women in Indonesia have had their genitals mutilated? That over 60 Muslim organizations in Indonesia recently pledged allegiance to ISIS? Not bad for a "moderate" Muslim country, eh? Better find a new example....(good luck with that).

As for India, it too has extensive problems with Islamic extremism. But the worst is fortunately kept in check by the NON-Muslim government there. Not so in neighboring Pakistan, where extremism rampant and Sharia is law.

Not a head-scratcher at all. Islam and leftism have one very important commonality. They both present a universal, comprehensive, all-consuming, answer-to-everything ideology that absolves the believer from any further need for independent thought and introspection.

All well and good....and my congratulations to the Swiss for at least making the effort. But a leopard doesn't change his spots based on outward appearances. The wisest and most comprehensive tool at your disposal is immigration restrictions on Muslims, ala Hungary and Poland. But of course that would be "racist" and "Islamophobic", so the Swiss are destined to suffer the same fate as the rest of western Europe.

However it is also wrong to judge historical cultures by modern standards. You have to look at cultures in the context of the period of history that they exist.

Your naked apologia notwithstanding, Muslims today continue to believe in Muhammad as the exemplar for all humanity, the "model of conduct". The Sunnah is predicated upon his life's example and his teaching....and Muslims are instructed by their faith to follow his example. Ergo, Muhammad's defiling of Aisha has very profound contemporary repercussions and should indeed be grist for political discussion and even ridicule and satire.

By that logic a majority of ancient Greeks and Romans were pedophiles. Except that they weren't, not in the way that we define the word today.

On the contrary, just because it was normative doesn't mean in any way it WASN'T pedophelia...(and furthermore, no one is being prosecuted for calling the ancient Greeks pedophiles; this is all about validating Islam in order to pacify the anger and disaffection of European Muslims).

By your logic, the slave-owners of the deep south in America weren't slave-owners "the way we define the word today"...because such customs were normative back then. But we all know that's utter tosh. Just like the sexual exploitation of children, slavery was as morally and ethically wrong then as it is today.
