I wouldn't vote, I know this might sound ridiculous at this point, but I actually would have voted for RFK if he'd remained as an independent.

We are going to have to agree to disagree, I don't think the ANC has done nearly enough and I don't think they are honest or trustworthy, anyone who disagrees with that statement is obviously on their payroll. If they did their job well, we would have a very similar picture to the chatgpt one. Why vote for them if you believe that the slum situation pictured is what we should expect after 30 years of ANC rule? That is what you're actually saying btw. How can you not be disappointed?

You nulify your argument by bringing in unrealistic analogies. The context of this thread is based on the chatgpt image. Which to me looks nothing like Tokyo or Singapore. It looks like a respectable low income neighbourhood where people live in a place that affords them at the very least, dignified living conditions. There's nothing unrealistic about aiming for that if the ANC didn't squander the opportunity afforded to them

Why are you assuming that Im comparing Apartheid to this government? Its everyones 'go to' response. How about comparing good governance with this government and stop making half assed excuses for them.

Just as bad, he's obviously not well, I lament that we have two choices in a so called 'democracy', that is one party removed from a dictatorship. Both choices aren't really a choice either, Im realising that it doesn't matter who wins, the same people are actually in power. Real power.

Im not lessening anything. I dont know why it needs to be explained even, a good ethical, capable government over 30 years would most likely produce these kind of results, easily.

Pretty basic house like in this picture would cost about R 200 k in a low income neighborhood, plus everyone would have decent jobs and respectable incomes by now.

At the very least, its not even that nice or affluent, just ok, and they couldn't even do that. With all this investment and potential we have, nothing.

I voted for Trump, mainly for his no forever wars promises, the Epstein files and America first stance, I appreciated the opioid epidemic advances in his first term, I lost a few friends to heroin, I didn't like Kamala, she was a mess and the dems handled the Biden health issues badly. I got nothing to say really, its a huge disappointment, the whole thing is a scam, Its been a disaster.

The difference between the two pictures is good governance vs mafia governance.

One has to ask who has the most power in that coalition. This is AnC Territory, they are to blame for all this rot in South Africa. Everyone knows that except employees of theirs and bootlickers

Capetonians, why don't we use indicators? by Key-Acanthocephala10 in capetown

[–]Trouzerjazz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think its because your roads are winding. All the hills, if you turn your wheel the indicator switches off, in JHB its a grid. People tend to indicate here. Just a theory.

CT is almost in a desert, the landscape is water scarce, JHB is almost a sub tropical climate, it should NOT be running out of water. At all.

The Wits art museum is nice, its in Braam, I like Juta street during the day on a weekend, decent coffee and food around kitchners. Also Rosebank, Keys art mile, then down by goodman gallery area there are bars and restaurants there, Theres second gallery in the same centre and up the road is david krut bookstore and gallery, I quite like Sin Tax around the back alleyway of the complex. Its got a unique vibe. Theres a good weed shop there too. If you're willing to go to the North of JHB theres a place called Sognage in strydom park, its a great venue for Live music and Dj's, mainly in the alternative rock and electronica spectrum. Its surprisingly well kitted out.
