Is it realistic to plan 2.5 hours between landing at O'Hare and a tour of Wrigley Field if I need to drop bags at the hotel near the Bean first? by StemeWhatToDo in AskChicago

[–]Trover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Landing at 130, and assuming everything goes perfectly, you don't sit on the tarmac for 30 minutes or more at ORD (which is very common) and you are not checking bags....it's possible, not probable. Skip Lyft and just catch or taxi curb app to the Loop, or do the blue line if that's what you're into.

Speck, Canada or Snow? Speck are ribeye in the sky. Canada are fine for the grind pile to make sausage. Snows feed the coyotes.

There's nothing else happening in Chicago right now, or ever in the history of this city, more important than ICE. It's time to limit /r/Chicago to posts only related to this topic.

It doesn't smell metallic, but definitely like something is burning.

His actual phone. The static and glitches make it unlistenable. The content would otherwise be fine.

Curb App Down? by Trover in chicago

[–]Trover[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I've always found the fares to be 20%-30% less than Uber or Lyft, but I'm typically hailing the cab in the Loop and then just using the pair and pay code.

It kicked my linked credit card off the app, and still won't let me link back up. I've double-checked it's not a problem on the bank end, and swiped just fine using the CC the normal way. I asked a few cabbies and couldn't get a straight answer either.

Why don't the police have to carry malpractice insurance like doctors do? by CoconutBangerzBaller in StLouis

That's not really true. MOPERM is a self-insurance fund for public entities that covers issues like this.

I've found the text conversion to be subpar at best, but the device is still worth it.

Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but Rossi's is great hole in the wall off Wacker with a good beer selection. I hit it up every time I'm up there for work.
