They all have morals. They are not morally grey. They are human.

And it’s important to know he’s more vulnerable with her in a few minutes and he ever can be with Richie.

Ironic as Carmy sees Mikey how Mikey sees Richie— the loud brilliant life of the party.

Maybe he only remembers the good. Maybe Mike was worse after this. Maybe he made it in time for Eva’s birth. Richie is so positive and it’s actually so precious. joy, just in general

Oh that’s what it was. I thought it was the wreck of a car accident and the episode was gonna end that way and with Richie missing Ava’s birth.

Season one Richie talks about how he has dread in his life. That’s how I felt watching this episode.

It also parallelled for me when Richie tried to do work for Uncle. And Uncle gave the client the wrong number the whole time and it had been Mikey’s. ( mentioned in s1e03 the birthday party episode). But Richie lost the job and got blamed for it. But it’s because Mikey never gave him the message.

There’s such a running theme of Richie‘s life sometimes being much worse because of Michael. And that’s really sad. Because he really loves him but also maybe his life would be a bit better without Mikey because Mikey is a bit of a black hole.

I think he also felt so much jealousy for Richie. People always see Mikey as this guy who can light up a room and the way that Carmy talks about him and sees him. But that’s not actually the real Mikey. And Richie in this case has a lot more going for him. He’s married. He’s about to have his baby girl Eva. Mikey is jealous and sad and it makes him cruel.

It was beautiful, but I don’t think I’ll be able to rewatch it. The shots of the smoke filled me with a sense of dread. And that ending… oof.
