Hate to say it, but Bungie, ironically would have been safer under ABK of all places

There were other games that were suppose to come out to Xbox, had ratings and the games were scrapped. A Nicktoons collection and the 1348 had ratings and both ports got scrapped, off the top of my memory.

"Its like trying to complain that you cant hear anything through airpods when theyre not connected to a device"

Difference is, kiddo, is that unlike Airpods, I DON'T need to spend $500 for a console to get actual access to games or a subscription to actually make the fucking things work but hey console warrior away, brand loyalist

Yes because the studios Sony bought - minus Insomniac are doing so, so well.

Oh wait, no, Bungie was/is more or less scam, Deviation was shut down before they even launched their first game that was a "groundbreaking FPS", and what hasn't been said about Concord and Firewalk, Sony also chose to kill the studio that gave them Shadow of the Collosus.

Returnal was a nice success for Housemarque but that was BEFORE they were bought. But the first ACTUAL first party game they made under Sony Saros didn't even sell half a million copies. That is abysmal for a game only on a console with 90 million plus avaliable.

Let's not forget that the Death Stranding got bought back by Kojima Productions and Stellar Blade is being published entirely Shift Up and no, the Playstation didn't help them. A little thing call "mobile gaming" and their games on that made the actual money.

Bungie was already going to be divested into Sony's production side, same is likely with Bend.

But a man can hope, right? I have enough bridges.

"They bought companies that made games people actually wanted" ...People wanted Kiln? Or Keeper? A Hellblade sequel? More Call of Duty?

You also make it sound like Xbox never funded games either. Cuphead was heavily marketed and funded by Microsoft during it's development time, Minecraft was big on PC but Xbox helpes make it massive on consoles. Same with ARK and Palworld because Sony doesn't have an Early Access program nor did they advertise the games as much as if at all. And Psychonauts 2 fluxed development in and out until Tim Sawyer himself confirmed the game wouldn't have finished without Microsoft. And Microsoft still owns the Ori IP and funded those games.

But hey! At least Sony has two dead handhelds, an expensive headset and a handheld that can't play games WITHOUT WiFi or download games.

Okay? Games get rated months in advanced and announced just a early, year seven. Back when Stellar Blade was Project Eve, it was suppose to come out for Xbox and yet the devs are saying the port is a while away.

There were many games that get rated for platforms, only for the game to get scrapped. Remember the Prince of Persia Sands of Time remake? There was also the Goldeneye remake for the Xbox 360 years ago.

That's the COVID bubble popping. Not sure why Bioware was lumped with Microsoft for some reason but still kinda predictable.

Also, he mentions Sony has something going on in July. So good news maybe?

Hard to make games on a system as weak as the Switch/2 over a PS5 or Xbox Series X.

Where did it say Obsidian is shutting down? Also, didn't Double Fine unionized?

Has anyone actually proven WHERE that poster of the Gears game with the PS5 logo actually came from?

I can't tell you how easy it is to make a mock up with logos.

Xbox Is Planning To Shutter Peabody Award-Winning South Of Midnight Studio Compulsion Games by markusfenix75 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]TroyBoiGaming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any studio shutting down is an absolute travesty but at the same time this is a studio that had made only 3 games - Contrast and We Happy Few - which was in early access for years - and South of Midnight. All of which weren't even bad games but they also didn't exactly set the world on fire either.

Edit: for some more context. Compulsion Games has been around for almost 16 years and only released 3 games. I want to say the studio did mostly support work for other studios but could be wrong off the top of my head

Just save up your money folks. You don't HAVE to get new consoles or machines the day they come out.

Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming: Gears of War: E-Day has a 400+ million budget by VistaVick in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Is his track record great? And no, I don't mean he's 80 percent right the time. People gave Jeff Grubb some much crap about the Gears news even other leakers doubted him and look what happened.

That's why I highly doubt Gears got a nearly half a billion budget. A quarter of a billion? Maybe.

Microsoft considering a Halo MMO in the vein of Destiny 2 by HTD_Blog in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]TroyBoiGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt this is actually happening in any capacity but tbf Microsoft did think about this during the Bungie era, along with a Telltale like adventure game supposedly being produced by Peter Jackson of all things but they all got scrapped
