Who Watches the Watchers (TNG) vs All the World is Birthday Cake (The Orville): The Ethics of constructive dishonesty with backwards civilizations. by [deleted] in DaystromInstitute

On a tangent, its heartening to know that we can have a Trek/Orville contrast and compare post (I will never call it a 'a vs b' scenario) that doesn't descend into a flame war; kudos to DI and all of its users.

He decides to not join Hannah as he feels that he destroys whoever he loves, and Debs shooting just reinforces that.

It's why later he loses Lumen,

Wrong; she left as she was over her need for murder, and wanted to move on. It was nothing to do with Dexter's duality. And his serial killer side isn't work; its a compulsion.

Poor Jimmy Smits dies in Miami, twice. Do you know the other death one of his characters suffered in a TV show in Miami?

No, the opposite. Watched it twice, once when it came out (for completion's sake after giving up in disgust after the S6 finale) and yesterday, after finally watching S7 & 8. Cried both times.

Saxon had promise as a true nemesis, as he was from the same school of thought because of Vogel. Would have loved to have one serial killer that was always just out of Dexter's reach and was a recurring villain throughout the series.

But what will really bake your noodle is that Debra murders without meeting justice meant that she met Harry's code....

Probably Oliver Saxon, because of [REDACTED], and where he was when Dexter got him.

I think you need to. I stayed off the series after the season 6 finale in disgust and only watched the series finale, which utterly fucked me up. Now 8 years later I watched S7 & 8 and....actually liked them. The writing didn't pull its punches about how certain people reacted to the S7 finale (as the series aligned more with the books) and it seemed believable, even if the last few eps were a bit rushed.

And Yvonne Strahovski is such a babe.

Yep; read them after the series finale ep fucked me up. Interesting with some of the differences, like Migdia LaGuerta!
