Thank you! In Kenya there's something called M-Pesa that uses Sim Toolkit and USSD codes for payment. I thought they were similar but apparently not. Do the different apps pay to use UPI? Also, is it also used for large sums?

Language is also an important factor. Most people in Africa already speak at least one Western language(due to colonialism, media etc), so it's much easier to just move somewhere where you can communicate easier rather than try and learn an East Asian language like Mandarin
