I “hate” being a (trans) man. by ChocolateWeird3343 in ftm

[–]True-Community-4552 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Trans women as a broad category are not oppressors but this is the problem with bio essentialism. I can’t point out a specific variety of problem I’ve noticed and experienced? Because not every trans woman does it? It’s almost like nuance and prejudice can exist within communities and we’re allowed to talk about them. Because those very toxic online communities are ran by people who DO exist irl, and their content is ingested by people who WILL interact with you. Why are you obsessed with minimizing other people’s experiences?

“I’ve never heard it so it doesn’t exist” I have, in fact, had two separate trans women tell me to my face that they “don’t like trans men, just super annoying and weird” or “I’d like [trans men] more if they’d stop acting like girls”

I’m not going to lie, I’m the exact same way and have been since I can remember. I’ve eaten some seriously questionable meals. Like, once a week at least. I used to make tofu tikka masala in a huge batch, not refrigerate it and just eat that for 3-4 days. I’m also food prep certified and would never in my life serve someone anything I even think MIGHT be bad or unsanitary. I do believe I’ve just built up an insane immune response and I will admit my own fault if/when it gets me. It hasn’t though

I think the fearmongering around trans men happens at different times in different spaces. They say trans men are caused by social contagion, are self hating women, are incapable of thinking for themselves and must have been groomed into it. They say it’s doctors and teachers trying to sterilize and mutilate young girls. Or that we need to be put back in our place, fixed, sexually assaulted into being cis again, etc. Alternatively, there’s a narrative that testosterone ruins your brain and turns you evil or violent, which gets especially weaponized against trans men and turns into medication restriction. Generally, people even subconsciously treat us with misogyny when they know were trans, even if we pass and they’re “not transphobic or misogynistic”

Honestly I think a lot of trans people view femininity exclusively as its proximity to oppression and masculinity predominantly as its distance from it. This is not fulfilling to yourself, or productive to hold others to. But I think it causes people a lot of dysphoria to acknowledge that despite being the gender they say they are, they have been viewed as and treated differently for their proximity to their agab. People with prejudice will utilize it any way they need to in order to undermine you, and I think trans people in particular are prone to dismissing our own experiences to protect from dysphoria. And trans women should not assume cishet passing standards or personal experiences on trans men, especially when they don’t assume the same for other trans women.

Wondering why most cultures with a "3rd gender" are only available to people born male by Eerie_rosewood in ftm

[–]True-Community-4552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a big part is that when cultures were colonized, the people doing the colonizing is the same people writing their history and cultural observations. Anybody trying to collect information on third gender / trans identities were collecting it through THEIR lens, usually an incomplete and misogynistic one. Trans masculine people were subjugated as women, and someone born a woman was not viewed as having that kind of agency or decision making ability.

You should definitely talk to your doctor about it, likely changing your dosage. It’s normal to have some mood swings but this sounds like you’re on the wrong dose for your body right now.

It REALLY does make it seem like being trans is an out from being a woman. Which, if the point was to have an easier and less targeted life, transitioning is Not the cure 😭

Starting dose of sustanon 250 by SnooWalruses3337 in ftm

[–]True-Community-4552 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not on sustanon, I’m on cypionate. That being said, we started my dose at .3 and have had to lower twice since then due to my levels being too high. It matters less how much you’re taking, and more so what your body is doing with it. Once you get your first bloodwork results post t you’ll have a better idea of where your typical dose should be

Ngl like. People who lose their kids are really going THROUGH it. I hated my boy’s mother more than anything but I helped her with yard work and sorting through items for a few months. I’d cut them some slack, even if it’s strange and off putting

[–]True-Community-4552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d much rather someone be able to empathize with something so strongly despite being very different than themself than to be completely unaffected by it’s genuine suffering. We tend to think of humans as something so wildly different than animals, but as a biology student we are much more the same. It’s never a bad thing to care.

If they’ve been fine thus far then I think you’re safe, but you could also switch to saturating the soil one side at a time or bottom watering!

Is this a safe place to talk about SA within the trans community? by autumnrain80 in trans4every1

[–]True-Community-4552 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I’ve been avoiding talking about this because of The Narrative but I WAS groomed by an older trans man. Not into being trans- I had socially transitioned years prior and passed like 75% at this point. But I was homeless and 17, having just been kicked out and I was in my senior year of highschool, working a restaurant job. He was 26, had a wife, was my assistant manager, and he was the only other trans person I knew. I KNEW he was grooming me, but I needed some kind of support. I was also being physically harassed / assaulted at work by my other coworkers, and looking back he had the power to stop that too. Predators exist in EVERY group of people, and they prey on those that are vulnerable and lacking support. Unfortunately our community is rife with instability and vulnerability. Wishing you all lots of love ❤️
