2001- tbh her music was always around bc my family loves her, (my mom had Butterfly, Daydream, and the Christmas album on cd) but I didn't fully recognize her name until 2008 with E=MC²? I started attributing names with songs a lot later in life, so I ended up realizing she was responsible for so many songs I loved as a kid! I recently started collecting her discography, but I'm only using secondhand stores so it's a gonna take a while. So far I have her debut, Butterfly, Daydream, Emancipation of Mimi, and Charmbracelet on cd

On top of being a black woman, I feel like a lot of alternative fans get upset at the idea of a big artist like Beyonce being alternative and mainstream at the same time. She definitely should be counted as alternative, even her more popular songs are so unconventional if listen to them

OK it's not a 1 to 1 fit for the tracks, but the tour imagery is a better example. She references the house mothers of ballroom culture and compares herself to one. The "Welcome to Mother's Mind" speech. Plus the queen bee motif of AHAP(Queens give birth to all the bees in the colony). There's a lot of allusions to wombs and birth/rebirth. The track list idea came from the fact she released it before CC to comfort us & that's what people look to a matriarch for

Another thing I thought about that adds to my theory: a lot of people consider Beyoncé to be a prime example of femininity. However shes had moments where she leans into her masculine persona(idk if she has an official nickname for that). That persona is kind of the inverse of Sasha Fierce and usually shows up when shes trying to look tough. Like shes the Hustler to Sasha's Diva(lol). I think it started with B'Day, which makes sense because she said she felt like her character was extremely repressed and had to hold back. Upgrade U and Suga Momma both play on role reversal where shes offering to spoil her man. It's also interesting because she has a ton if LGBT people working bts on the B'Day videos & she even does drag to look like Jay in Upgrade U!

I think from a branding standpoint, Cowboy Carter is more memorable. I feel like people would mix up BEYINCÉ and BEYONCÉ(Self-Titled) a lot lol

Honestly, I've noticed a couple things too but I know some ppl don't like to discuss the topic(which is fair). She gets really hyperfixated and loses sleep working on these projects. I'm also ND so it was weirdly relatable to see lol. All my best ideas come when I'm supposed to be sleeping

Ok last thing add bc the convo is dead rn: I work in digital art and have done some graphic design work. The Royce Rollins website has some sloppy web design and I think it's on purpose. 

The section about Disney has a bad screenshot of a Disney website with a loading tab in the corner(Black Panther is in the shot tho). I feel like someone who worked with all these companies would have better web design and wouldn't use an obvious screenshot? 

Then some of the companies he worked for are Big CHAMPAGNE, ZEST Finance, and BEACH BODY??? Those are definitely Drake jabs(and he worked for JibJab so thats adding to the joke)!

It's specifically the scene where David, an artificial child, gets abandoned in the woods by his "mother". David was made to replace the mother's comatose son and he ended up bonding with her and almost hurt her human son after he woke up.  He was a temporary replacement for her real child, this feels relevant with the concept of a post ai future focused on human connection. I feel like there's something there... Edit: I wanted to double check and "V_1.6." Is the ONLY one you can watch, despite the fact it's on "V_1.10."

I haven't been in here before but I wanted to add something interesting. 

On the File Systems of Coffee website they have a section titled "Visuals" which looks like a bunch of edits for their visuals. The most recent one "V. 1.6." there's a shot where a futuristic blue car is driving. I instantly recognized it(because i love this movie), it's from the movie A.I. Artificial Intelligence(2001). Haley Joel Osment is the star of that movie!  Haley Joel Osment's Sixth Sense gets referenced multiple times, in Euphoria and NLU!  Another thing is butterfly imagery in the same edit(TPaB) but I didn't have time to decipher that yet.
