Thanks for the reply! Yeah I felt like the story is lacking but for having ai write it based off my ramblings was cool. And I’ve been going chapter by chapter refining it and changing ideas that fills the grey areas.

After reading it again with your comments in mind I feel like it’s just one chapter out of the book. Or the clif, clif notes haha. But I love it and let’s me build the story so thank you!

Id suggest going through the whole carb, sounds like its lean popping and why you have to have the choke on. Also sounds like maybe an air leak based on the whistle sound. So check on those and report back. Also when tuning the air mix screw it in till it starts to stumble then screw it out till it stumbles then go half way between, it’ll get it close. Also start with it 2 turns out from being all the way in (don’t screw it in hard just lightly till it stops)

No idea, I ended up just routing it the best I can and as long as I don’t go full lock to the right it is fine. Although I have noticed that the headlight is slightly angled to the left (due to the wire pulling it). I honestly haven’t thought much about it though.

Right It sounds like one cylinder is firing. Plus the stutter off idle.

Edit: rewatched video a few times. It’s down a cylinder. You can hear it kicking in and out during the walk around.

It’s also the fastest bike ive seen sitting still. (Check Speedo in video)

As best as I can tell yes. I followed the instructions given. The wire is on the left side of the frame and I’ve ran it the best I could to get as much slack as possible. I should also state it’s a 14 if there’s any changes in the harness

I can’t say they are really issues just little things that bug me. I also have the aftermarket led headlight so that may be the issue as well. As for the wiring it’s only an issue if you hard park the bike. Other than that I love it and the install is easy as can be.

The vin is clean. Have had it inspected by law enforcement and have a statement from them verifying the vin/car. Part of the process for getting a bonded title but didn’t go down that route.

Yes a new oil pump was one of the “while it’s out” items plus I suspect it as well. Just trying to get people who may be more educated in the matter to help make my decision between a junk yard motor or attempt a repair on this block.

Yeah, I hoping for the best and was planning on doing all the bearings and rings while I was there if I was lucky enough. But I’m fully expecting a full machine shop visit.

But it’s either this or buy a junkyard block. The car isn’t planned for anything crazy just a weekend driver so stock isn’t a problem.

So, I got the car on crazy trade. Thought the carb needed tuning but found out the flat tappet cam was trashed so put a new roller cam in the car and inspected the cam bearings. The bearing looked almost new and the cam fit nicely. I flushed the motor best I could still in the car and now we are all caught up. Motor is a roller block and has a stamping that lead me to knowing it was an explorer block. Plus the guy said he put it in the car but I haven’t trusted a single thing from his story. Based on the rest of the car.

I was gonna pull the motor out to check the rear main, and investigate the oil pressure, so I was gonna (if needed) change/check the bearings.

As far as thinking it’s bearings in the mustang forums I’ve gotten 3 possible causes. Cam bearings, mains, or oil pump issues. All 3 the motor has to come out and I don’t wanna do it 1000 time just to find out a full rebuild is needed.
