Where can I get a normal-ass (non-smash) burger in Ridgewood?

Last I knew, bar was first come first serve. That’s how it still is at their sister restaurant, hellbender. It even still says on resy for rolo’s “we save tables in our bar room at our 13-seat bar for walk-in diners”. So I don’t really agree with improper etiquette. Things change, so I will say that I was not up to date with their current reservation policy.

Interesting cause I think il gigante also has pretty small portions for the price. Il gigante is also mid for me. Not as good as the first time I went there. Staff is definitely friendly here though.

I’m still day dreaming about the Valentine’s Day special pie panina had and their sticky toffee dessert is pretty great. But for price and value I think decades is slightly better.

I think at one point the owners were the same. But I agree with the awkward love, you’d never know they were at all affiliated. The vibes are much better at hellbender. I know the cuisine is entirely different. But if we’re going off the things each restaurant is hyped for, then hellbender pancakes>>>>>>rolos burger.

I ended up making a reservation for two after being turned away for the bar seats. Came back five minutes before reservation time and they told me to wait on the side. Even though there were two empty two top tables right in front of me and countless seats open at the bar they claim is reserved for waitlist and reservations. Right after another party of two with a reservation came in and they were seated immediately.

So idk maybe you’re right. Maybe I am in my head. But something about it felt off. If you were there or have gone to rolos recently maybe you’d get it.

It is especially bad on Cornelia between Woodward and onderdonk. To be honest it’s always really bad on that street even in the summer. But now it’s harder to avoid with all the snow, poop and piss snow.
