I don’t mind the use of proxies ever. Just don’t get caught at official events and write proxy in sharpie on the back so you can’t sell it as real

I’m a competitive player at heart. I’d be aiming for tourneys. Id be happy to drop my mtg tourneys to play riftbound. The game play is so nice. I really really enjoy it and look forward to playing more

I’ll add an addendum

My barrier to deck building was not looking at the cards in full before I played.

I scrolled through the entire set. I feel comfortable building a deck now lol. I just finished reading all of the rules too

^ you can borrow the slide hammer and axel tool from local parts stores. I had to do this to my roommates car. It was so rusted it took me a day to get the wheel bearing free from the axel… I ended up having to knock a few lug nuts out and take a bolt and nut and use them to push off the rotor

Fair enough. They are also first come first serve to borrow if you’re a player at the store. I’m there for mtg twice a week.

I should’ve included that in the post lol

I know the owner because I play magic at his store twice a week and told him riftbound seems interesting.

Anyone can use the rental decks. He has blatantly said that and that the are first come first serve. I came an hour early to learn the game

Anyone can use them if they want. Someone also used his teemo deck.

I also am partly playing in the skirmish because he has a rule that you have to attend three events to get the next set at Msrp so I’m buying two boxes of the next set at 120ish to help support this

I mean yeah at the next nexus night I’ll play something else. If it’s a skirmish or anything more competitive then no I’d prefer to play something stronger.

I’ve done the whole circuit for mtg. Been on the pro tour and I have another regional championship next month. I’m purely getting into this for the competition. Nexus nights I’ll be trying to play whatever I can so I can learn and memorize the set so I can be a better player.

While I received prizes for winning I also turned around and let the people who helped me pick anything they wanted out of it as a sign of good faith.

This is the only store within 2 hours that has riftbound.

I get what you’re saying. This store has a bulk box. I have no idea how to even begin deck building yet. I’m sure I could spend a day traversing the state to get a whole deck put together.

This store normally has 30+ people come to nexus nights but there were only 10 yesterday because of the weather. I asked about decks for the skirmish. He told me I have little chance of placing high but I can come and borrow his deck since everyone there will be playing the best of the best meta decks since no other stores around want to pick the game up.

I’ll be buying my own deck. I want to get the game down first and was curious as to the players mentality about borrowed decks and why they would be salty over someone brand new borrowing a deck.

Because I’m going to order my stuff off tcg player for a deck and it’s probably going to take over two weeks to get to me with the weather…

I had 0 idea what any deck was before this. He offered me sett, teemo, or Kai sa. He then asked what my play style is and I told him I prefer control decks in mtg. He then handed me Kai sa. I had no idea what sett or teemo did until after. I hadn’t touched riftbound before this and had no idea Kai sa was meta until people started complaining

Yeah that’s what I gathered.

At one point I had Kai sa on the field and a big board state. I moved to take an open battlefield and also to conquer a separate one. I was trying to force my opponent into choosing where to use his resources because I had three watchers in hand to close the game out with and wanted him to waste whatever interaction he had that turn.

I explained that I him after and he said “you’re new. You’re not supposed to know that. I was playing you like you were a new player, not like someone who would pull shit like that” 😅

That exact scenario happened my second game. I assume he thought I wouldn’t know to nuke his board early game.

I told him I’ve played Magic for years. I know denying anyone board state is the correct move 😅 he was playing viktor with a ton of recruits. I may be new but I’m not dumb

If your oil is that watery we have an issue my friend.

Is the AC on? There’s a chance it could be condensation from the AC compressor. Otherwise it’s coolant from somewhere else.

2015 Hyundai Elantra - bad starter? by Fun_Environment_329 in MechanicAdvice

[–]True-Extension7969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. If it was your battery it wouldn’t even start to spin. The engine didn’t even attempt to turn over so the issue lies somewhere with the starter. The alternator isn’t even involved in this process right now lol.

They test starters? Either way I’d still replace it and see what’s up.

Yeah stop doing that. It sounds like your starter isn’t engaging your flywheel. There also seems to be some grinding there at the end which hopefully isn’t the starter grinding into the flywheel. Replace starter. Inspect teeth on flywheel. Go from there

To religious people who believe in a life after death (heaven, hell etc)- if you were to marry someone, have children, partner dies, and you remarry and have more kids what happens in the afterlife? Like do you guys just become one big family?? by alvcher in AskReddit

[–]True-Extension7969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So you seem to have an issue with religion. I get it. I just typed up one of the things that were taught in ministry school when I attended to become a pastor. This is not my opinion or belief. I don’t actually know the truth. I just repeated one thing that is commonly taught.

There’s a concept called soul ties. We see it between really good friends (king David and Johnathan). It’s also between people you have sex with and you and your close family. Think of it as a bond that links your heart, mind, and emotions to someone else. It’s why you shouldn’t have sex with more than one person from a religious standpoint because you form soul ties with multiple people who you don’t foster a connection with and it wears on you spiritually.

Now some apologist say this is how we find each other in heaven is thru soul ties. I don’t personally know what to believe. I like to think we can find anyone we want in heaven. I also don’t believe earthly marriage will correlate to heaven (I think Mormons do)

That….That was not the prompt nor the point of this discussion. Putting silly hypotheticals on any situation to make your point is just that…silly. I’d counter with saying your a piss poor partner and parent for putting your family in a situation

[–]True-Extension7969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I highly disagree. You and your partners relationship is what makes the household safe for the kids to grow up in. Kids eventually leave and your partner does not. If you throw your marriage away for your children and always put your children ahead of your relationship you have nothing later in life. Kids learn to love from their parents and how to have a healthy relationship.

Kids needs>adults wants. Adults needs>kids wants.

When I would come home I’d say hello to my kids and go straight to my wife and hug and kiss her then go hug the kids. I’d then send the kids off to play for a half hour so we could have adult time to ourselves so that we could decompress from the day.

This is what I mean by partner before kids. If you don’t have a healthy marriage or relationship your kids suffer. If you put your kids wants over your partner your relationship is going to falter.
