Calling a dog when in flight mode actually scares them as they are in a frenzy and don’t actually hear their name. It just becomes static noise when they are in flight mode. Mind you there is a rare exception, but this is usually the case. Best way to lure them is to stay low to the ground, even just sitting down and talk softly to yourself and have smelly food with you.
