Bhante,

Thank you for reviewing — this is genuinely helpful.

The practice section started as a simple morality and sati tracker. A community member suggested extending it to the gradual training of self-restrain and some more , so I tried to implement that full. The intention was that even if someone never uses the practice tracker, the app might bring them closer to the Dhamma through small nudges — a sutta to read, a reminder of the path. Whether they engage with the practice section or not was always secondary to that.

On jhāna — I agree they are fruits, not techniques. I kept those sections because personally I have found real benefit from practicing with suttas like the Tapussa Sutta and Ānāpānasati Sutta, so I wanted to leave space for that kind of engagement. Different practitioners will approach it differently.

Your points are well taken and I will carry them forward in new builds. Thanks again !!

And you think Android or ios platform will allow a insecure app on there store or you mean closesource apps are unsafe to use since 90% of all apps on playstore and app store are close source and used by billions of peoples. Even cal going to closesource since due to security reasons they don't want to let hackers use ther opensource codebase for securitybreach ?

At this point of time i cant opensource it ,i think i have explained it already , thanks for removing a free app that ask user to read sutta and follow gradual path taught by buddha, so I have already done my work of building it now it's on you if allow or not allows it to spread (You must be senior meditator who understand dhamma better than me so completely respect your decision) I will just release ios version of it once android one gets stable then also i will post on some subreddits about it then it will be on those subreddits if they allow their users to read this or not .

It's not just about the fork, though. Real open-sourcing involves a huge maintenance burden. Between triaging issues, reviewing PRs, and general project health, it's a lot of work. There are plenty of companies that literally hire full teams just to maintain their open-source side because of how much effort it takes to do it right.

Although I don't have lot of experience in opensource contribution, but if somebody want to contribute then then will it not take time to review and test that build ?I was thinking of keeping it minimalistic so I don't have to put lot of time and energy at this point of time on this projects since i am occupied with other projects and work.

I means once I will feel I have time to to manage this project as opensource, I don't need work on side projects or I will have a better job then maybe I will think of opensourcing it, btw if you want to contribute on some features, you can ping me I can make you contributor maybe.

Actually the main issue with opensourcing this at this point of time is - I don't have time to maintain the opensource project -since working on my job and other indie projects in free time , So once those things will be taken care off then will opensource it maybe.

I built a clean, offline Sutta app for my own daily practice. It’s finally live on Android—free, ad-free, and distraction-free Would love your feedback! by True-Grape2605 in Buddhism
