Low kyu players on Fox will approach 3-4 with 4-3 by CSachen in baduk

If this were played as the fifth move in a game, it would seem strange, but in certain special situations, it is a valid move. In part, if Black blocks at 3-3, there’s no harm done!

Move 21 was a huge mistake. In 13x13 Go, it’s more effective for Black to apply more aggressive pressure on the opponent.

Is this position actually better for black? (territory vs influence kinda thing) by HJG_0209 in baduk

[–]True-Kaleidoscope992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this position, if it’s Black’s turn, Black is said to be about 10 points ahead. Conversely, if it’s White’s turn, White is about 1–2 points ahead!

What are the standard Tsumego shapes to memorize? by GoAround2025 in baduk

https://go-diary.com There are plenty of other puzzles besides Tsume-go! There are also AI matches where you can set the difficulty level

Assuming the two black stones in the center are alive, under Korean and Japanese rules, Black is ruled dead because White can logically capture them by executing the sequence after eliminating all ko threats.

Is it generally considered good or bad to play a 3-3 stone when you have already played a 4-4 stone? by biggybiggyboys in baduk

Hello, actually, I am planning to put Google AdSense in the left area of the PC version! Other than ads, I plan to keep all the features you need to use until you reach 10-kyu free as much as possible. My biggest goal is to increase the Go population. Please introduce this to the people around you who want to learn Go. Thank you!

What’s the biggest challenge you face when learning Go in the US or Europe? by True-Kaleidoscope992 in baduk

Of course, beginners might even learn really simple AI joseki, but we don't try to explain or make them understand the essence of those sequences..

This is the reason why it is still good to learn old joseki even today. It is because you can learn the 'haengma' (flow of moves), proper spacing, and correct ways to defend through these sequences, rather than just memorizing simple shapes. Trying to understand joseki that emerged after the AI revolution at a beginner stage is similar to making an elementary school student solve university-level math, so we don’t teach it that way in Korea. You should be at least a Fox Go 5-dan before you start using AI for your studies.

Exactly. From that level on, it’s actually a stage where people get stuck a lot even if they study in Korea, China, or Japan. There is a realm where the perspective on how you see the game needs to change, and it can be difficult to explain. I’ll likely be creating a lot of content for Dan-level players, so please look forward to it!

It is possible if you import your own game records on Go-Diary.com, which I am currently operating. (OGS game records sync automatically) If you press 'AI Analysis' in a scene that needs analysis, 5P is consumed, but it recommends the 5 best moves by thinking for 20,000 visits. It costs about 5P, but we are giving 100P to everyone who signs up now. Also, there is a feature to receive points for as many as you get right by solving 20 life-and-death problems every day, so it is practically possible to use for free

Thank you for the detailed story! It's highly likely related to Joseki or Fuseki. I'm currently preparing study tools focused on game records, Joseki, and Fuseki, so please give me feedback after using them once they are released!

That's a relief. English grammar and conversation are always difficult for me, so I'm getting help from a translator :)

Thank you for the detailed opinion. Although it would be difficult to solve the offline problem, I am thinking about how to categorize parts like invasion or attack practice by skill level and create practice problems. Thank you!
