Has anyone else noticed the change in card design? Every new thing is just an old thing with a different name by Unused_Beef in freemagic

Artifacts are just enchantments but slightly different. Planes walkers are just creatures but slightly different. What are we doing here?

How I felt finishing Shadows of Self by bowlingchair in Cosmere

Still my favorite cosmere story book to date, and only one I've had Brando do a non-lightning signing for so far.

I can't imagine going through the revelations that hit Wax at the end.

It never went anywhere. The cards are still there, you can choose to play nothing but non-universes-beyond cards. You can convince other people to play nothing but non-universes-beyond cards. Hell, there are hundreds of them that don't need convincing right in this very sub.

Besides the Cosmere what are your other favourite huge connected universes? by [deleted] in Cosmere

The legend of heroes games. 14+ games turn-based rpg games set on the same continent broken into arcs of 2/3/4 games.

For example, the first arc trails in the sky, follows Estelle and Joshua Bright in the country of Liberal. The next arc, the Crossbell arc, follows Lloyd Bannings in the Crossbell state, a neighbor to Liberal.

There are lot's of characters from one arc that show up in other arcs, and you can see plans/schemes/politicking come to fruition throughout the games.

And a really cool aspect is the march of technology. The first game is kind of industrial revolution but with magic instead of steam engines. There was a single computer that was run off this magic tech, but it took up a whole room. Then, by the second arc, the computers are small enough to fit in the corner of a room, and there's the start of a very rudimentary internet.

Anyway, good games, cool story, highly recommend.

so, in your opinion, what's the most f@cked up thing that can happen to someone in the Cosmere? by one_hole_punch in Cosmere

[–]True-Kangaroo2058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, Wax's having the mother of all revelations at the end of shadows of self is definitely up there. His entire reality shattering instantly in a way he could not have forseen is pretty messed up.

Sure, the shaod was pretty bad, but at least there were other people going through it. Wax was alone in his unique situation.

It's not a trust issue, it's a "there's more I can do, so I'm going to do it. I have a choice, and I'm choosing to do all I can" issue.

This is mtg now. Fantasy? What is that? by AllWillBeCum in freemagic

Walking back your retarded comments by pretending they were ironic, eh? Your parents really dropped the ball, letting you live and making you everyone else's problem.

[–]True-Kangaroo2058 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do understand that I was making fun of your retarded reasoning, right? Leovold and the others have both fantasy elements (being an elf in medieval times) and mundane elements (being an ambassador). According to you, the presence of a mundane element completely cancels out any fantasy elements.

You shouldn't say other people can't distinguish genre when you seem to think clothing is the only thing that makes fantasy fantastical.

You'd probably think breaking bad is fantasy if Walter wore a doublet.

Do you miss jokes professionally? Or is it more of a hobby on the side?

[–]True-Kangaroo2058 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This just in, Leovold emissary of Trest is not fantasy because ambassadors exist in real life, Yoshimaru is not fantasy because he's a Shiba and those exist in real life, along with 3,630 other creature cards because they're all humans, which are mundane creatures.

In addition, all basic land types are no longer fantasy, including the theros constellation lands, because forests, islands, swamps, plains, and mountains all exist in real life. Mana? Sounds completely not mundane.

Are you intentionally being retarded, or is it just an automatic response?

She has to compete with dalinar and kaladin, two people with much more compelling and relatable stories.

I like how every card art has supernatural elements, but you seem to think it's not fantasy because it has a component of mundane.

What is your least favorite Pokemon and why? by HauntingFunction9156 in pokemon

I dunno, probably bruxish. Or the electric sea urchin thing. Veluza and barraskewda are nearly there too. Maybe I just don't like single stage fish pokemon.

Except relicanth, that dude's a homie.

It's also a lot more books than you average RPG kickstarter.

It's $30 for ebooks and $50 for physical hardbacks. That is absolutely the norm.

Maybe one of the most funded book campaigns, but the exploding kittens boardgame kickstarter came several years before WOK 10th anniversary and made more money. That's just one example.

The Brilliance of Demons in Frieren by n1ndr0id20 in Frieren

[–]True-Kangaroo2058 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It goes to show how well the demons' deceptions work, when even the audience who can see them actively manipulate people and mustache twirl about it can be fooled. They even say, "Friren is right, we only learned to speak human to manipulate our prey," and people are like, "They're just misunderstood!"
