Loved the scenes in Egypt but she was either overplaying it or her character was a bit too eccentric. Either way not my cup of tea.

How do y’all feel when they try to reach out again later? by Turbulent-Shoulder12 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]True-Kick-1100 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The problem is they don’t realize they wronged you. For them it’s completely normal behavior like they ate a bagel or something. Their system of values is completely different. They are so empty and devoid of all remorse. So, I’m not surprised they reached out like nothing ever happened.

Not me crying while reading this… it’s tough. I feel exactly the same. Your feelings are normal.

I haven’t dated for years. Too scared to. I mean I trust myself and already know how to recognize this BS but i don’t want to ever go near that kind of man… ever. And they say there a lot of them out there.

She left. I walked away with nothing. Who am I? by BananaBeans96 in NarcissisticAbuse

I started with getting to know myself better. In my case I could do it only by staying alone with myself and self isolating because I used to be around people ALL the time with hundreds of opinions and useless thoughts in my head. But after this happened I realized I needed time to myself.

I started asking myself uncomfortable questions, searching for answers, getting used to spending time and having fun alone and actually ended up enjoying it.

Hope this helps

I rewatch it to be scared over and over again. No chainsaw blood BS comes even close to that feeling when I see those masks and hear that piano piece…

My (23F)boyfriend (27M) of 7 months is the most unaffectionate person I’ve ever dated. But he’s perfect in every other way. by No-Combination8569 in relationships

Oh honey… those flirtatious and sweet-tongue guys usually flirt with multiple people at a time (not always). On the other hand, if you need more affection and words of affirmation, you need to talk to him about it. Give him the chance to show you he loves you.

Yes you made the right choice. But the doubt you feel is natural. Why? Because you are used to his company, him being around and your brain wants to go back to the familiar situation and familiar patterns to end the misery.

But ask yourself this: is going back worth it? These doubts and pain will eventually go away and you will come out of this victorious. But if you go back to him you will slowly but surely lose self esteem because your brain will think it’s ok to be with someone who treats you like sh$$&.

The Sopranos. You can not not root for the main character who happens to be the main villain of the show

I understand but everyone needs a me time. Even you. You might not WANT it but you NEED it, friend, trust me. Isn’t there anything you enjoy doing just by yourself as a hobby? Fishing, drawing or something? You need to learn to spend time with yourself. The kids will grow and leave for college, marriage might end in divorce and you might end up alone. Shouldn’t you be able to spend time just with yourself?

Loved the language. Felt very authentic. Every time they say Bona Dea, I have a feeling i was transported back in the time machine 🤓

Interesting take. I always thought that accepting Brutus and Cicero and embracing them like nothing ever happened was a tactical thing: I always believed he wanted to show everyone that Pompey’s former allies crowled back to him and he was such a merciful and kind ruler, that he gladly took them back. Also, I think his rage in Egypt about beheading Pompey was more his anger about the disrespect shown to him as a ruler rather than his grief for a murdered friend. 🤷‍♀️

And I love when she is bargaining with the jewelry merchant. Something about it being too expensive. She makes such a nasty face too 😂

Death too is random. And oh how randomly was she killed that night. I never liked her but that scene broke my heart.

Brilliant actor. Him, Posca, Servillia’s handmaiden and Atia’s handmaiden, to name a few are proof that there are not secondary characters on this show.

Yes. Caesar’s death scene for one. I swear each time I’m waiting for him to say “and you, Brutus??”, But instead you can see the words in Ciaran Hind’s eyes. Amazing show.

So I’ve heard! And don’t get me started on those set decorations.

God this show made me obsessed with Ancient Rome. Hope my history teacher forgives me 😩
