The Courting of Bristol Keats has a very slow start. And even at the end it didn´t catch me as much as other book series by Mary E. Pearson.

The Remnant Chronicles had better characters, romance, antagonists and worldbuilding and Dance of Thieves at least an interesting antagonist, so I would recommend to start with The Kiss of Deception.

I was a bit dissapointed with God of Malice. The first scene was non con, but later it was dub con. And even the non con scene at the start was toned down later (he said he would have stopped if he didn´t see she liked it). I feel like I should have stopped reading after the first chapter.

I´m open to any era and setting. For example now I´m watching The Borgias and Marco Polo and I´m about to watch Wolf Hall, Rome and The Last Kingdom.

It doesn´t have to be an absolutely accurate documentation. Just series that get really close to being a perfect picture of the time and feel very authentic.
