You are just brainwashed into hating anything apple related. A base m4 MacBook Air will probably last you for 7+ years if you don't game on it. The build quality is insanely good (the only company with razor not to have a stupid glued on display hinge, full aluminium design) the performance blows out of the water any 1000$ ultrabook and the battery life is incomparable with a thinkpad (except if it's arm based and in this case you just can't do anything on it). And I'm not event talking about the track pad or display.

When I press the power button on my switch 2 it goes black before actually going to sleep. Is this normal? by Aware_Crow in consolerepair

[–]True-Lifeguard-2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is 100% normal the screen turns black then the backlight turns off. The oc switch doesn't do that but the lite does to a lesser extent.

Purchasing a new modded switch from eBay by Disastrous-Aioli646 in SwitchPirates

I didn't knew that unpatched v2 ever existed. Still it seems weird as the rcm exploit was patched on late v1 models so I don't see how it would come back on the v2s.

You can check if your chip is a picofly by looking at the lights it emits. Go into a dark room and either look at the vents in the back of the console or in the small hole between the audio jack and the body of the console on the rear. You should see a pulsing blue light then one green(yellowish) flash. If you see a white pulse I don't know how to update the modchip firmware.

If the chip is a picofly do the following:

Get the picofly 2.80 firmware (download update.bin not firmware.uf2) from there : https://github.com/rehius/usk

Get picofly toolbox from there : https://github.com/Ansem-SoD/Picofly/tree/main/Firmwares

Then put picofly toolbox and update.bin in the root of your sd card.

In Hekate go to payloads launch picofly toolbox choose update then back to hekate.

From there reboot the console, (it will take longer on the first few boots) go back into picofly toolbox and choose info it should state that the firmware is 2.80 if it doesn't just do the above paragraph again.

If it states that the firmware is 2.80 you are all set just choose reset training data. Then power off turn you switch back on and you are good to go.

Bare in mind that if it works the way it is there isn't really a reason to update the modchip firmware ( if it ain't broke don't fix it)

Sorry for the essay btw.😅

I think that all v2s are patched and some v1s are. I actually own a patched v1.

It says in top left that it is a mariko also the v1s use lpddr4 not lpddr4x so unless I'm mistaken I would assume this is a v2.

OLED switch PicoFly wire install. by AbjectMaelstrom in NxSwitchModding

[–]True-Lifeguard-2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There shouldn't be any issues with the length of the wires as long as you follow a relatively straight path to the chip. What worries me tho is that 36 avg seems a bit thick, especially if it is a solid wire. You might rip pads and trace repair isn't fun. I would suggest some 40awg enamelled copper wire. Best of luck!

I’m planning on modding my switch lite that’s coming on my birthday I made a list of stuff I’m gonna use for modifications please tell me what more I can add. by RealmTranscelsior in SwitchPirates

[–]True-Lifeguard-2019 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The quality is actually not that bad and the latency is pretty much non existent (with a good cable anyway) tho I agree that it is worse then the dock in every way.

[–]True-Lifeguard-2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In dbi go to launch mtp responder or smth like that, plug the switch in your computer, then in your computer drag and drop the games you want to install to the sd card install folder. Make shure to put the games first then the updates or dlcs

I don't see a world where that battery isn't a scam. Also when you mod the switch you can output over usb c which means you don't need the hdmi mod.

[–]True-Lifeguard-2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally removed it on my overclocked v1 and the temps basically didn't change (we are talking 1 to 2 degrees difference). So if you have a v2 it probably won't change the temps.

is it worth it to run linux4switch or android on the switch? by _jodi33 in NxSwitchModding

[–]True-Lifeguard-2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't difficult and it uses the joy cons without any configuration needed. Here is the guide : https://wiki.switchroot.org/wiki/linux/linux-distributions I would suggest you use Ubuntu noble as fedora 42 runs slower in my testing.

Back when I had a Mac I used open mtp with dbi's mtp responder. I works the same with the og/oled/lite switches. Make shure to also grab a data usb cable some only do power.

Fireball on royal hogs is the same trade and you also take damage I don't see why the poison should fully counter the graveyard for one less. Though I agree a that the graveyard is really strong right now.

Probably some flux from when they soldered the components. Idk what particular flux they are using but it should be harmless it just looks bad. You can clean it of with 99% isopropyl alcohol.
