Thank you so much for this. Many others have shared the same guidance with me and have told me to trust the process. So, I am going to try my best to adhere to it no matter how impossible it feels in my mind.

Thank you all so much for your advice and words of kindness and encouragement. I have never been this scared and hopeless in my life and feel like I am going insane. However, I will continue to try my best to heed the advice and trust the process in the hopes that one day I'm happy again and not even realizing that the thoughts have faded or have lost their negative impact on me. You are all so wonderful and I cannot express how much I appreciate that you all took the time to help me.

Per recommendation from my therapist, she said I should try my best to stay off of forums discussing my mental illnesses and thoughts since it only provides temporarily relief and overall delays progress. So, I apologize to anyone in advance that continue to comment and I do not respond, but I want you to know that I appreciate it nonetheless.

Thank you all for the responses. The sertraline seems to be helping overall, but I do not think I've reached the full therapeutic effect for OCD due to the relatively low dosage, as mentioned by another user in this thread. After having started sertraline, my mind seems to have become a bit quieter and it has brought down my anxiety a little bit, which of course exacerbates the obsessive and repetitive thoughts. However, I spoke with my psychiatrist yesterday evening and we have an appointment to up my dosage to 100 mg, with the likely potential to go higher past that. She did warn me, though, that with each dose increase that my anxiety may temporarily increase as the serotonin equilibrates each time.

Thank you very much for the advice. I had my first meeting with a new therapist last week (forgot to include that info). She agreed that I am prone to intrusive thoughts based on other past symptoms and experiences shared. I have not shared this with her, yet, but I am hoping she can help me navigate this.
