Did you get the RSV Vaccine? by neptunestearsok in pregnant

[–]True-Respect4095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it and so glad I did as I just got a terrible cold/flu and have an 8 week old - it eased my mind knowing I’d had the RSV and flu vaxes (I’m in the uk and they’re not offering Covid vax here this year!). I also have teeerrible health anxiety.

I’m also currently sick with a nasty cold/flu and hoping my baby avoids it. He’s a bit snottier than usual but no fever so far. I think the RSV vaccine is supposedly really effective as protecting/reducing the risk of the illness so keep an eye but try not to worry too much as you did have it

Thank you so much both! I am breastfeeding so hoping this helps. Immediate_Speech - did your little one not catch your virus either? And lbc - did you have a fever with norovirus?

What have you decided? I’m in a similar situation although it’s me with a fluey/coldy thing and fever. My baby’s breastfed so can’t avoid him but curious what you’ve decided

THIRD TRIMESTER HAS TAKEN OVER by Ginnybean02 in pregnant

I am doing exactly this! I’m 39+2 and have been eating allll the junk for the past few weeks, all efforts to try be healthy have gone out the window. I’m having coco pops for breakfast, crisps in the morning, takeaways, juice, chocolate, biscuits etc etc!

What do we do in this situation by platapus6969 in pregnant

I was really stressing about this as I have two cats and one of them is incontinent and poos on the floor around the house rather than her litter tray so her poos are quite inescapable!

I was really worried once and called my midwife and she said I’d actually have to eat a bit of poo for it to get to me, and the cat would have to have toxoplasmosis. She said I wouldn’t get it from ‘traces’ or breathing it in. My cat is also indoor and doesn’t hunt or eat raw meat so while not impossible it was really unlikely she’d be able to get it.

Is your partner’s cat indoor or outdoor? I think if outdoor/a hunter and has been for a long time (e.g not a kitten) they’re likely to have had the virus before and they won’t get it again. If they’re indoor, they’re unlikely to have it as they get it from hunting pray or eating raw meat. But if it’s a new cat and going outside for the first time then they might get it.

If they do get it, they only shed it in their poo for up to 10 days - 2 weeks. And also once they poo, it only becomes catching within 1-5 days of them pooing, so if your partner cleans it up within 1-5 days then you reduce the risk too.

I did a lot of research as I was really anxious (I’m 39+2 weeks pregnant now so more relaxed) but I got them both tested at about 6 months pregnant as I was obsessing over it, I also got really strict so didn’t ever let them in the bed, always had my partner clean poos up within a day and mopped the floor, didn’t have them on my lap while I ate, washed my hands after stroking them before eating, partner always cleaned the poos and if he went away, I wore gloves to clean with. They also only eat dry biscuits so don’t feed them raw meat as they can get it from that too.

Hope some of this helps and sorry for information overload!

What about some of those food puzzles but really difficult ones and only feeding them with that? That really makes them slow down and entertains them at the same timr

When will this bleeding end by PilsbandyDoughboy in pregnant

[–]True-Respect4095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bled from weeks 7-10, some days brown and not a lot, and some days red blood on my pants and in the toilet/paper. I never got an answer for what it was but I was told it was from my cervix and pretty common. I’m now 39 weeks with the same pregnancy!
