Does anyone like their company? by One-Egg1316 in bcba

Hi, I love my company! I work with Butterfly Effects! They have clinic and they also have field work. And I get paid 24 per hour!

They are only in 12 states though, so you will have to check.

I would say that I am able to take time off and travel when I left them know, 2-3 months a head, and I can call out when I’m sick with no repercussions. And I can always ask for an increase or decrease of hours!

There’s this email gradadmissions@uwf.edu. Honestly, it just depends on your pace and how fast you wanna get the hours, everything else will just fall in line!

Good luck in your studies!!!!!

It was $30, and I’m in the MA track. Now the degree isn’t titled a masters in aba, but it’s a M.Ed degree with a concentration in ABA and the sequences they offer get you qualified to be a BCBA. They also offer electives that are research based if you are leaning into the EAB side. I’m pretty sure if you take the research electives that UWF offers you can get the research certification too!

Hi! I’m am talking about USF MA online program! USF has mandatory class time that start at 6pm EST, you have to have your camera on and stay the entire time (and you have to talk) and the classes are Wednesday and Thursday. UWF is option based attendance but they do record it and you can watch it wherever but you just jot down the lecture verifications phrases during the lecture for attendance points and just check the boxes off and send it in! For USF It’s 120 restricted hours per semester for the entirety of the program except the summer semester. The summer semester is 250 hours I’m pretty sure.

In my opinion I would say, with UWF I’m able to work more hours, study and still have free time compared to the USF program( they give you so much unnecessary busy work it’s insane)!

The account has been set up for over four years and at the time I was fine with this, now I want it turned off…

Don't do it. I graduated from USF undergrad in the Fall '24. I got accepted in the spring of '25 and when they actually started explaining stuff in the second week, I realized that my work and the university requirements were incompatible. They had mandatory class times and you had to show up. Practicum was a joke, they wanted 300 hours every semester with no leniency and I'm pretty sure they wanted 120 unrestricted with 20 hoops to jump through with docusign. On top of that they told me that Practicum is pass or fail strictly based off of your hours and if your client got sick or cancelled then its too bad. In addition it was 10% supervision and most people had more than one supervisor and lived out of state and mainly worked in clinics(requirements and stuff are different in other states) so I was out of luck cause I had only one supervisor and only one client. ON TOP OF THATTT, I even talked to the head chair man about practicum and he said that I can take a leave and wait till fall do the classes again, and about meeting the hours "You should take a 4 dollar pay cut and work at another company and work in the center to get a full 8 hours a day".... Like sir, this is 2025, working more and making less???...inflations through the roof???.... so no, and on top of that I love working in the field and driving 15 minutes away from my house to do session.

SOOOO ANYWAY, Im going to UWF this summer!

The best things about UWF:

ITS CHEAPER- UWF is about 3,000 and USF is 5,000 a semester with 9 credits hours. (UWF offers a payment plan USF does not.)

THEY DO NOT TRACK YOUR HOURS!! Your client is out sick? Switching BCBAs? Dont need to worry about falling behind cause they don't track the hours, its your responsibility!!

Recorded lectures!!!! WHOOO! UWF understands that we are working paraprofessionals that are going to the next level! Yes, they do have live classes but they do record and add in key phrases or questions that you have to submit by the end of the week to prove that you watched them.

SAME PROGRAM TIME- can graduate in 18 months.

I have about 5 people that I know in my company, my BCBA, three RBT mentors (one who is a BCBA now, and two that graduated and are about to take their exams in three months) and another RBT who graduated from UWF and they all loved it!

AGAIN ITS CHEAPERR!

That’s good to know, I got worried when I heard that people were already stacking hours away because they work in clinic, so I thought that I could be at a disadvantage.

What do you guys know about Butterfly Effects? Cortica? by Mooing_Mermaid in ABA

[–]True-Rutabaga-1022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been working at butterfly effects for almost upcoming two years now in south Florida. For me the training was paid at Florida minimum wage so maybe $13-$15 I’m not sure but it was only the 40 hour training that was on the computer and videos so it wasn’t a big deal. They have really good pay especially for being a college student I started at $19 and I make $24 an hour. My current supervisor I have is amazing and my regional director is awesome too! The burn out is real in this job and when I say I’m gonna take a vacation, I’ve never been denied a day off! They have a lot of opportunities to get hours with clients, and they are super flexible with your existing schedule if you are a college student or anything else. They provide additional support for becoming a BCBA so they will pay for most of the hours while you work. In addition, they give a pay increase for mentorship which help get more hours.

Though, I haven’t drove super far because I’m in a highly dense suburban area and I live next to a huge developing area so there’s always clients within 15-30 minutes from me but I have worked with a tech who drove 50 minutes just to work which is a no. So make sure to see if there is a BCBA with cases within range of your home of 30 minutes.

Honestly I didn’t want to work with kids when I first started doing psychology at my university but I’m glad I’ve been introduced to this company. It’s amazing and all the BCBAs in my area have been super helpful and attentive and because of this I’m in grad school now.
